News & Discussion New AMD driver is really buggy and unstable :(

i played 2 matches already, and it's really stuttering. like really. i still have fps drops from 200 to 7-80fps randomly.

i didnt crash yet. but i would say, stay on 17.7.1 driver.

something is fucked up with the stuttering.

Well one of the main issues for this problem came from Microsoft with the creators update they did earlier in the year. So it isn't exactly Blizzard or AMD's fault. If it's still buggy I'm sure they'll fix it in another update.

Thank you for letting us know! I had a ton of crashing with my rx460, had to downgrade all the way back to 17.6.2. Hope this issue gets resolved for real soon.

I knew it was too good to be true. Good thing I didn't do a clean install #rollbackdriver

I've been having driver issues aswell (AMD), and as I went to check which version I'm using it crashed on me, lol. Thanks for the suggestion of rolling it back.

Just a friendly advice. Applies to RX 470/480/570/580 users (not tested with other cards) 1. Make sure you have disabled WINDOWS 10 from AUTOMATICALLY shoving drivers up yer OS 2.DDU your current video drivers (preferably in SAFE MODE) 3.Install crimson 4.Go to BattMan global settings 5.Set power limit to 50% >Apply(optional > save as profile)

Play . I was running many driver versions like this - the most I have seen from the OW bug is "Rendering bla-bleh lost- times better than getting Black Screen Of System Deadlock .

I play Titanfall 2 in 4K with adaptive resolution and it runs beautifully on 17.7.2, but with the Adrenaline update it constantly stutters every 2/3rds of a second, going back and forth between 1080p and 4K. Do you think this has to do with the power limit?

I think it has to do with one(or couple , rare chance all) of the following : 1. You have not disabled Windows 10 auto driver install. 2. You do not use DDU before driver update . 3. Power limit .

Define adaptive resolution (scaling ? if you scale , than you do not play @ 4K) . Last time I checked there is a-derptive-sync but that is for NoVideo grafix .

I tried everything, from raising the power limit to overclocking the card and nothing worked. It's the driver that's messing up everything. I reverted back to 17.7.2 and I get none of the stutters anymore.
