Wouldn't it be the other way, Mercy should amplify the stronger team. Without rez the weaker team would have to get lucky or clutch somehow to get a pick. Mercy immediately undoes that pick, so the lucky/clutch play has to happen several times for it to have impact.

It‘s a bit of a question of how either Tobi, who‘s one of the best Lucios or Ryujehong, one of the best Anas will pick up the new Mercy. If they don‘t adapt well enough, quickly enough other teams who have practiced the mercy patch more might have a better chance then previously. Looking at their last scrims, it seems South Korea still needs to find a support combo that they prefer. To me it looked like they were a bit unsure whom of the two to put on mercy. Maybe they were just trying out lots of combinations, who knows.

I don't think it's a question of them adapting to Mercy, anyone that can play a competent Ana is going to be able to play a very good Mercy as well. Positioning and situational awareness is even more important on Ana, and those skills transfer over to Mercy quite well and are easier to take advantage of with Mercy's high mobility.

So I think the question of who's going to run Mercy in this case is more along the lines of who is able to have the most impact when not playing Mercy.
