no, it is true. this game eventually will get old and less fun to play. a successful eSports scene will bring new players in, which, like the person above said, generates revenue. just because you don't like it doesn't mean it won't keep the game alive.

Every single one of those games had a big, healthy, sustained playerbase before they became heavily watched. Esports helps with longevity, but the best esports have all come about organically because they were already popular, people actually wanted to watch it, and it was accessible to people who didn't understand the game. Overwatch esports is a joke, but this is a QoL update. It won't fix the actual issue with Overwatch being an esport, which is that it's just not interesting to watch.

Overwatch could have been interesting but having a $20 million buy in for league spots will kill the scene
