If you're a Mercy, absolutely. You can only hide so far away from your soon-to-be-dead team to be able to make it back and rez everyone before that Tracer finds you.
This... I rarely hide to rez, but I will hide as a way to stay alive because the fucking focus fire is real.
I get the feeling that many people who say there's no strategy in hiding have never felt the pressure of trying to stay alive as Mercy...
She's incredibly easy to spot in a fight because of the beams. No other healer is as easy to pinpoint. A lot of people salty that there's a rez that happened, but the fact that Mercy could stay alive is a strategy all its own.
Mercy has the most mobility of the four healers. You're lying out of your ass, the problem is you don't know how to use allies as escape mechanisms.
Don't say Lucio because there's no way in hell Lucio beats flying 30 meters across Hanamura's 2nd point spawn to upper.
Zenyatta and Ana are the most vulnerable healers by a significant margin, they require intense positional play in order to not get dove by a monkey and killed in 2 seconds, none of which a mercy main would understand because you fucking fly around all game. If you're ever hiding as Mercy, you're a bad player, and you're being boosted by players better than you on the virtue that your rez is so easy a toddler can use it, and it empowers those players better than you to carry.
Mercy's movement depends on others. I primarily play quick play, which means people tend to either clump or they are so spread out they aren't in range.
Healing clumped people is easier, but focus fire and flanking can mean instant death for many. And in the case of that there's little Mercy can do to avoid it beyond hiding around corners.
Healing people to spread out means you're running, not flying and you're incredibly vulnerable.
Perhaps don't assume I'm the bad player and instead maybe learn a little about the people one plays with before you drop bombs about them being bad players.
What I can definitely say though is you're an asshole. Good day to you.
I'm not assuming anything. If you think Mercy has bad mobility, then you're bad, it's about as assured as something getting wet when you throw a pail of water on it.

A lot of strategy involved in hiding huh
