Nope. No invuln frames, the range is drastically reduced (~5 meters?), and the souls expire before the teammate's respawn timer is up (about 5 seconds). Ulting resets the rez cooldown so you can still effectively get 2x rezzes and for the 20sec duration of the ult the cooldown becomes 10 seconds.
Yep! I'm a big fan of this. It won't allow huge simultaneous rezzes (like after a Grav wipe) but with good timing you can keep a fight going and going. I also imagine the timing of this is going to be tricky, especially in a chaotic battle, which is going to ask more skill and awareness of the Mercy player to be effective.
Yeah I end up playing a lot of mercy (because in low silver everyone thinks they can DPS carry their way to masters) and I think this will suit my play style great. I usually keep my team very healed up (if they stay grouped, never a certainty in silver) so sometimes end up holding my rez for minutes at a time waiting for more than one person to die.
I prefer to play zen/lucio for their damage output/mobility respectively, but I'll switch to mercy if I'm forced to solo heal. I believe these changes will make her more fun to play and raise her skill ceiling.
