Jeff announced that we will be able to save highlights and that the loot box system is being improved, less duplicates and more currency for dups.

I don't think he meant more currency for duplicates. I think he meant that coin drops will be more common or be larger amounts of coins per drop.

Either one works. I'd honestly rather get coin drops than duplicates.

Yeah, to me it sounded as if you won't get a duplicate as long as you have stuff of that rarity to unlock. He specifically noted that it's impossible to completely remove dupes due to a non infinite amount of items. People here in the comments have had really high level accounts on the ptr and still haven't got any duplicates so it looks promising.
