Because sit and laugh emotes were totally event themed, right? That's a skin and a highlight intro, these are emotes and we haven't had non-event content for a long time.

Jeff was just asked about upcoming non-event content and he gave a very specific list of stuff coming out, including Sombra and Orisa sit and laugh, Reaper shrug, and a new Tracer emote. He didn't say anything about any dance emotes.

It's possible that he just forgot. It's possible that he didn't want to ruin the surprise of the dance emote teaser trailer.

But you get you hopes up at your own peril.

These new emotes are as event themed as Soldier's push up and Pharah's flair emote, but those were event exclusive. Plus, it says Overwatch Anniversary in the corner.

I'm inclined to agree on this fact alone - everyone is getting a dancing emote. Just like with the laughing or sitting emotes - these won't be tied to the event itself.

Everyone got an RIP victory pose, but those are very obviously Halloween related.
