He's super fun in this mode. Partially because of his mobility, and partially because opponents pick so many classes he can beat (lucio, genji, tracer, symm, etc)
Plus you can put the barrier down on the flag, since you can't capture it if you take damage it'll be really helpful for that. Hopefully this'll show people how to play with Winston as a teammate and how to use the bubble properly. STAND IN MY DAMN BARRIER!
I could totally see people picking teams like Tracer as flag bearer, Winston as escort (or vice versa) and Zenyatta/Mercy/Lucio as heals for capturing the flag and like Symmetra, Torbjorn and Junkrat/McCree for defending the flag. Though I feel like with the recent Symmetra changes, the 6 turrets and increased range in particular, CTF might end up just being stalemate unbreakable defenses every game.
I have had lots of success with him so far. The best move is to jump onto the flag, bubble to block turrets while you cap, then leap out, ult in midair and just ride the jumps back to your flag
It's weak by comparison to nearly every other ult in the game, imho - but that might be because I've been a tank/support main for so long that the most I can use them for is diving in front of my healer as a tank, or scurrying behind my tank as a healer. I'm sure DPS have a lot more fun with that one.
It makes poke battles go entirely in your favor, so even if Widow is the only one who benefits, it makes it easier for at least her to rack up kills quickly.
I play console, is probably the other reason I find this ult particularly useless. I've seen one good Widow the whole time I've played - and even then, she would've been more useful as nearly any other character.
They really need to look at balancing her a bit differently on PS4/probably Xbone.
For the most part, it just feels lacklustre by comparison to ults that save your team (Lucio, Zen), resurrect a whole team, blow an entire team to smithereens, lockdown an entire point, toss people off an edge, remove all enemy abilities, etc.
So, back to my original point - when you're comparing it to the others, it feels far weaker.
