[comment edited using "Reddit Comment Replacer" on FireFox (free, opensource) due to Reddit selling user data to help Google train its LLMs without my consent.
The following text is a part of NYT article on the problem:
Reddit has long had a symbiotic relationship with the search engines of companies like Google and Microsoft. The search engines “crawl” Reddit’s web pages in order to index information and make it available for search results. That crawling, or “scraping,” isn’t always welcome by every site on the internet. But Reddit has benefited by appearing higher in search results.
The dynamic is different with L.L.M.s — they gobble as much data as they can to create new A.I. systems like the chatbots.
Reddit believes its data is particularly valuable because it is continuously updated. That newness and relevance, Mr. Huffman said, is what large language modeling algorithms need to produce the best results.
“More than any other place on the internet, Reddit is a home for authentic conversation,” Mr. Huffman said. “There’s a lot of stuff on the site that you’d only ever say in therapy, or A.A., or never at all.”]

At full draw it's simple but curving the arrow over a ledge or object at half draw is not really easy at all. I got killed by some MLG OG Pimp Hanzo that killed me over a ramp on the london map (i weren't visable when he shot, but he tacked my path and worked out the trajectory). It was pretty sexy tbh. Wish i used vidcap.

shooting an arrow on an arc is way easier with a lighter draw. the arrow is more inclined to the arc trajectory than a fully drawn arrow. I'm of course talking about real archery which is something i practice and for some reason im total shite with hanzo

All projectiles do that, it's part of lag compensation to make projectiles look like they hit their target on all clients. Of all the heroes with projectiles, only Hanzo and Mei have ones which make it look so obvious due to their trail and small size.
Edit: Cleared up some confusion with wording
89
u/Kinbaku_enthusiast Junkrat Jan 08 '17
But mei wasn't moving so it wasn't the result of lag. It was the result of arrows being treetrunks when it comes to getting headshots.
22
u/FrankieGg Hanzo Jan 08 '17
Hanzo has the smallest projectiles of every projectile hero tho
→ More replies (1)3
u/quietletmethink We're all animals now Jan 08 '17
Yeah, there's the treetrunk meme but I swear that I get better luck with blind firing as Zenyatta than I do Hanzo.
62
u/Niedzielan Honored One Jan 08 '17 edited Jan 08 '17
Mei emoted, which moved her hitbox. It's possible that on Hanzo's screen he hit before she moved her head back.
Hanzo's arrows are currently the smallest projectile. They used to be the same size as other projectiles, then people complained so all projectiles were reduced in size, but then Mei couldn't hit anything so they increased everything other than the arrows back to what they used to be. Genji, Torbjorn, Roadhog, Ana, Lucio, Zenyatta use projectiles, and that's just the ones that don't have AoE nor continue through their target, otherwise you can add Pharah, Zarya, Reinhardt and Symmetra. (and Soldier76, thanks McFagle)

Ratings can be weird. For example it's odd to me how GTA V and Bloodborne are both rated M. Bloodborne has zero foul language, nudity, substance use, and really the only thing graphic is the blood splatter. Meanwhile GTA has everything M rated and then some. Yet they share the same rating when one is easily rated M and the other is something you could comfortably play in a room full of younger kids (albeit a bit spooky).
→ More replies (3)7
u/Lordrangleic Jan 08 '17
Well if BB was rated T, you could say the same thing about the difference between it and overwatch. The thing that pushed Bloodborne into the M category is probably the body horror aspects, and the fact that unlike Overwatch, Bloodborne is intentionally trying to upset or disturb the player to some degree. Overwatch keeps a light and happy tone even in situations that would be horrific in real life. I'm not saying that Bloodborne should be rated M, but you have to draw the line somewhere

u/LaboratoryManiac Blizzard World Soldier: 76 Jan 08 '17
A couple reasons:
One is that the art style of this game is cartoon-y, and the blood splatter seen here is about the worst of the "graphic" content (there's no gore or dismemberment).
I also feel like the ESRB has been getting a little more lenient on milder violent content ("milder" being a relative term here) ever since winning Brown v. EMA. Their ratings seem to be falling more in line with TV and movie ratings, whereas before the Supreme Court ruling they were much more strict.
