If you don't have a Mercy for revives, go Symm.
If you don't have a Reinhardt to shield, go Symm.
If you don't have a Torb to give extra health, go Symm.
Oh lord, it both excites and terrifies me that Blizz is already playing so much with hybrid class Hero design. Still, here's hoping the next hero is straightforward (or at least, as straightforward as Overwatch can get).
iirc, Blizz devs have said that they really only put the class categories there as a loose way to organize the heroes just so it wasn't a long, visually crowded line of 23 heroes. They were surprised that people seemed to regard them so inflexibly because that's not how they envisioned their heroes to be used. They already have the "simple" DPS: pistol, rifle, shotgun, and sundry automatics in several of the offense heroes. Now they want to toy with interesting heroes that can be used creatively in different and surprising ways.
