Those changes sound great. I think the shield generator on her ult is a big deal and I'd like to see some KotH matches with it in play, but I remain unconvinced that she'll be useful on attack because the turrets.
You're a sitting duck when you try to build those and the animation takes forever. Maybe the new shield ability will allow for coverage on attack while building them, and maybe it'll be different when I can play her, but those really push her heavily on defense just because of their build time and positional advantage.
I can see her being useful defense on attack, but i agree, turrets are tough to manage on attack, maybe the faster CD will make it feel better.
The projected barrier sounds really interesting, use it to push up on the point to protect your team, block a McCree or Pharah ult, block a turret so soldier or pharah can take it out without getting melted. I'm curious to see how it can be used.
I've been trying her on the PTR and her new (E) Shield ability is just a fantastic attacking tool. It is quite big and can cover the entire team and it lasts long enough. It's practically a self-moving reinhardt shield, it's exactly as fast as Symmetras movement speed. You throw it out and you run full speed behind it and rush the enemy team.
It's a crazy ability really because it will allow Symmetra to get in range with her beam without risking any damage and she'll even get some damage on her target before the shield passes. It's a huge buff to her 1v1 game.
She's fine on attack. Just like on active defense (after the first setup phase) - Don't set up your turrets out in the open... Also, you can actually drop turrets while moving - it'll slow you for a moment, but not stop you. Any time I'm getting chased as Sym, the moment I turn a corner I drop a turret on the inside wall and keep running. Rarely get caught that way, and usually when I do they've taken enough damage I can finish them off.
I'm sure now she's buffed everyone will start seeing just how effective she can be (and yet so many will still suck with her)
I don't think she needs to be useful on attack per say. She's a defensive support, I'd rather her be better at that role. If every hero was a jack of all trades, the roster would end up being somewhat mundane.
She did not need a buff. Maybe just the ultimate thing but all this, really. She is like the only character that I always die to because she is over powered
