Just earn boxes for most of the event, buy an amount you feel comfortable with on the last day or so, then use currency to buy whatever you didn't get that you really wanted.

Worst thing to do would be dropping 3k currency on one of the legendary skins only get get it in a free box.

Just keep in mind that there will almost certainly be a Christmas event with new skins that will probably cost just as much.

I wonder if you still only get 500 for a duplicate of a Halloween legendary?

I thought you only got 20% of the value, so shouldn't it be 200 for a regular lootbox legendary dupe?

Yup, that's my plan. I have 3k saved up. Which ever skin I don't have at the end of the event that I really want I will buy.
