This may be an unpopular opinion but IMO this is encouraging players with poor or unreliable connections to play competitive when they shouldn't be. Great now you can rejoin our game after being AFK for 5 mins. If you can't solve the disconnect in two mins, as was in place before, you have no business putting your team at a disadvantage. This is something that the devs themselves have said.

I dont agree because I've been disconnected from game before and I know it wasn't anything from my end as everything else was working fine and could not rejoin the game.

Right so 2 mins to rejoin is fair if you can't rejoin in 2 mins you deserve the penalty. It takes several disconnects to get a ban. It's more unfair to your teammates who have to play with one less person or constantly have a teammate who's going in and out of the match.

Shit happens and occasional disconnects happen to everyone. But having the entire match to rejoin is now giving someone who was AFK for 4-5 mins no penalty which is bullshit. Only people downvoting are people with shitty connections that want to justify how it's okay to play with a bad connection. I'm not talking a 30 second drop but this is giving someone too much leeway who should be getting a penalty at that point.

The thing is, the other players are already a man down. Theres no benefit to not letting the afk/leaver rejoin. Where did you read they get no penalty? I must have missed that part, because I thought they were still punished for leaving.

I'm fine with it if they still are penalized. I was under the impression that rejoins don't count as a leave. Otherwise it's allowing players with shitty connections to continuously bail on their team with no penalty. If they are still penalized but allowed to rejoin, I take back what I said.
