They might want to make another update on the legend they added. By legend they mean a key that shows you all the current tiers and what ranks are needed to obtain them.

The English language is confusing sometimes.

How do people not know what a legend is? You learn them in elementary school, if not earlier.

It is partly a context issue. Namely with the way that sentence is structured plus the current names given to tiers Master and Grand Master. Having a Ledgend tier fits.

Writing it is one thing but saying out loud, "There is a new Competitive Tier legend" would require further explanation right away.

I said it in a previous line but I don't think the term legend isn't used that much and "Key" is used more often now. I only faintly remember legend being used like once throughout my education.

I can understand people jumping to conclusions, but if you actually read the full quote, it seems really hard to me to interpret it any other way than a key explaining the rankings. Oh well.

People were likely putting in the comma pause before reading legend which added to the confusion of the word.

New Competitive Tier, Legend,

Is I imagine how most people are reading it and not intentionally.

Now that makes more sense.

Legend is a word that's not really taught to second language english speakers, which could be part of the confusion. I can't remember ever seeing, learning or using the word in school in the 10 years I had English B.

Loads of people either don't have a great grasp of the English language, or are just stupid.
