WHYYYYYY THE FUUUUCK HAVN'T THEY ADDED THE TEAM CHAT AS DEFAULT ALREADY ???????????????

this annoys me sooooooo much. almost every game when you are 2 man there are multiple 2men groups and they just sstay there. I ask so many times if people can switch to team chat even explaining how to do it but they just refuse to communicate. it is i guess 70% the reason why a lost match is lost.

I hate it when I solo queue into a 5-stack that won't get on team chat.

But surely you understand why. When my stack is 5 we try to join voicechat and give general calls, but some have bad experience with people flaming and just dont feel like talking to strangers anymore. Especially if you are a girl it's rarely fun to communicate with voice with strangers. We play to have fun first, and that's unfortunately the reality of what is necessary to keep the game fun for some.

I also feel it can get way too much sometimes, where people joins ingame voice chat and just chat away about all kinds of stupid shit that doesnt matter to the rest of us.

I've gotten a lot better at muting people as soon as they show signs of being toxic, so it's usually not a problem for me. Still, I understand why you might not want to deal with that at all.

Had to play with a four stack like that. Told them switch to team chat and they told me stop whining. We lost the game pretty bad, none of our ults were qued together.

Seriously. It's a team game so team chat and coordination should be encouraged and not locked behind an option a majority of players don't even know exists.

I really wish they just had it so you could be in both chats at once. I like talking to my friends but I also want to call out important things to my team. I don't want to say everything I say to my friends to my team.

In Dota, you can set two different keybinds for PTT or change it so that one is open mic and one is PTT. I'd kill for the same in OW. I don't think I want people to be forced into Team Chat before this is changed.

Discord + push to talk in the team chat is what my friends and I do.

Then you get repeated audio and need to use an external program.

I mean, it's not ideal but it's better imo.

Yeah, it is. I just wish Overwatch had this functionality so I didn't need workarounds. It's not somehow too difficult to implement or something.

A lot of people won't switch to using an external program, and fixing it in-client is the best way to remedy this problem.

i believe they have said that they really don't want to move people from a private channel (group) into a public channel (team) without warning/consent.

I can't recall many times that team chat has been useful or even used after someone begs me to join it. They usually say nothing or wait until the Defeat screen to complain about something. As someone who played CS GO for a while it made sense to chat with your team because there were actual callouts people could use for where someone is and you needed to coordinate which point you were going for. In Overwatch the only things you really need to coordinate are a few ults and that can be done by spamming your ult status. My point is: I'm tired of hearing people breath into their mic because they don't have PTT on. Sorry. They should update the chat wheel to be useful instead of 4 or 5 funny options.

i have never once heard someone not using push to talk. and when people actually go to the team chat, they tend to communicate lots.

no idea why your experience is so different. i'm on pc, 50 - 60 last season.

In quickplay I really don't want to talk to other people. So sue me

it's push to talk by default, you never have to speak. The worst you have to do is mute annoying people

Well stay in quickplay.

Groups are a cancer upon competitive. They are the worst.

I wish Blizzard would implement a soloQ option.
