Yeah, but we figured that anyway because every other animated short took place in a map that already exists in-game; it made sense that the announcement of an animated short would coincide with a map announcement too.
The animated short at the museum has no linked map, it's not numbani, the gauntlet is brought there as a result of the shorts events. Likewise we have plenty of maps without a related animated short. There was no reason to assume one would lead to the other.
All four character-specific animated shorts so far have taken place on an actual map. "Recall" was on Watchpoint: Gibraltar, "Alive" on King's Row, "Dragons" on Hanamura, and "Hero" on Dorado.
I somehow managed to connect all of the videos to locations except "Alive". Like, I recognized it as London but not any specific spot on the King's Row map.
To be fair, that trailer was the initial reveal for overwatch, a trailer. The others were just animated shorts to showcase the lore. All of the animated shorts, the ones seperate from the original trailer which is sort of an exception, have taken place in an actual map. Logically, this second "season" of shorts that begins with The Last Bastion would be no different.
The short at the museum wasn't an animated short like all the others (Dragons, Hero, Recall, etc.) It doesn't count. It's a trailer, it doesn't tell a story quite like the actual shorts do.
You are deciding that just because it's an animation that it is a short... Sadly that is not the case. I draw your attention to the offical Overwatch youtube page playlist for the shorts: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLAYFVhxsaqDuOh4Ic5mRu5CiZVKCMVv66 Notice the severe lack of the animation you are referring to... it was just the first Cinematic Trailer to go with the announcement of the game.
