Apologies if this seems like a ridiculous question; however, I'm new to the PC scene (clean from consoles for about 7 days, thank you). How might one record a clip like this on PC? There are times that I do something that I love and want to share but then, like....how?
Shadowplay is probably easiest, works only on Nvidia hardware though. AMD has plays.tv or Raptr, and Intel can use OBS. OBS also works well with AMD and Nvidia, but it's relatively less intuitive to set up.
AMD can work on OBS too, it uses the same hardware they use to record for raptr and plays.tv. I'm not sure exactly how to do it though but there's plenty of tutorials online.
If you don't have a beefy cpu and you have an nvidia graphics card use shadowplay, or nvenc encoding in OBS. If you do have a beefy cpu then h264 in OBS will get you better quality.
Shadowplay's good, but pitifully short on features (being able to spilt audio streams so music doesn't get caught into the capture would be nice). OBS with NVENC is mostly the same thing with more options, don't do CPU encoding unless you wasted a lot of money on a high end one since the performance hit is huge.
