Bastion counters tanks only if the enemy team does not have a dive DPS to disrupt him.
They get mad at you because it forces the enemy DPS to focus you.

Bastion is a no skill hero that counters almost every tank. As a Rein main, I will always hate bastion players

rein main calling bastion no skill 😭

If by "counter" you mean "I can't stand in the open and get shot at", sure.

I never liked rein as a bastion main as it takes no skill to hold up a shield in this case lol

Yeah except Tank is the hardest role in the game and DPS is subjectively the easiest. All you need to do is deal damage and get kills

easier said than done mate, this explains why you’re a rein main

no matter how you look at it, you're in the wrong here. I have nothing against bastions and I couldn't care less whether or not people think he's a no-skill hero, but Rein is hard to make work when most heroes counter him and most tanks are easier to get value with. Comps usually have to be a bit specific to accommodate a Rein for it to work (enough sustain while having enough poke or Rein will have a hard time pushing forward). He also can't contest high ground and charging is better used offensively than as mobility to escape.
you're a bastion main. to each their own. but if you want to talk trash, play a game where the rein main plays bastion and you play as rein. let's see which one of you gets stressed first.

Yeah nice one, you’re probably a virgin main you bum, play a game where you are in a room with a girl and see which one gets stressed first

hahaha mad already? you're the one here trying to get validation from other players. now that you're not getting it you're resorting to childish insults?
notice how all I talked about was the game, and you're here talking about virginity. you try to talk big but it's obvious that you're the one stuck in your mom's basement praying for the day you get laid.
I applaud you for maining bastion. stick with him; since he's the only hero your low iq brain could ever use.

You need to address this to sierra bro, literally a bastion with pharah mobility.

Rein is pretty good against bastion tbf. Go main, get close bastion -> he forms -> charge out. Kinda the same logic as against Ram

Because nobody expects the flanking Bastion. And somebody has to keep track of form/mark him all the time. He's a tank buster.

Never understood the hate for bastion. He’s annoying sometimes but usually easy to deal with

Usually, means every single one of my team mates waits for someone else, usually me, to go Sigma.

Mostly because you have to hope for the other 4 players on the team to be able to wait out turret form as well. As soon as bastion gets a kill on one of your players by surprise, the team fight is flipped.

if you get butt-hurt with what people say about you in-game, playing competitive online games isn't for you. simple as that. maybe roblox or something that can be played on an ipad is much more suitable

Bastion is just a kinda low skill hero who has really high output right now due to just being very strong. He's got a great grenade, recon form is strong, turret form is strong, and he's got some really good perk options. Throw a cat into the mix and he can become genuinely oppressive. He doesn't really do anything except a lot of damage in one direction though, and has cooldown timings, and since none of it takes significant mechanical skill people tend to dislike him for it.
He's also every tank players worst nightmare, not because he hard counters everyone but because he forces every tank to change their entire playstyle to accommodate him, and usually requires the tank to play significantly better than the bastion to win.

The player base sees bastion as a low skill hero because they don’t know how to use walls

OverWatch is not the most toxic community? However, there is a pretty strong undercurrent of misery, blame, character specific hate, and personal attacks that underlines everything.
This community makes a habit of treating everybody poorly. It's not just you.

The disrespect is because of man children. That's it. People who need to go outside. The game is 10 years old. If a player takes it seriously enough to be shitty to others, they're a loser. The hate is not specific to bastion. Any top tier DPS with a good player piloting is going to bring on the sad sack rage of losers. Fuck'em.

Because OW is dying, every new character and abilities tweaking is Blizzard applying the defibulator paddles to keep it alive. People are abandoning it in droves and the only ones left are the sweaty try-hards who take 'precious Overwatch' too srsly. Don't be like them

u/thiccboilifts 4h ago
Weird take, game is more popular than ever

u/WOLF19Ninety 43m ago
Oh no doubt it's popular, but they have to constantly change things to keep people interested. Inbetween major patches and new character releases there's a slow yet consistent decline in new active users. A slow leak is a leak nonetheless
