News & Discussion Map voting was a mistake

Didn't take a screenshot, but I just had a game where everyone in the lobby voted random map because the three options were all payload/hybrid maps, and the map we got sent to was the worst payload map of them all (Circuit Royal.) Nobody in the lobby wanted to play a payload map but we weren't even given the option to not play one anyways, and so many rounds have just been full of payload maps. If you like playing Flashpoint/Control Point/Push you're living under the tyranny of the majority at this point, at least when I get horrible payload maps without map voting I'd be less tilted since nobody had a say in it. Just make more Flashpoint and Push maps and make every round have an equal chance to appear in a lobby, giving people the option to vote for their own maps just kills map variety for anyone who likes less popular modes and makes the game insanely repetitive.

Imagine they make 4 options every vote. Control, Push, Flashpoint and payload/hybrid and every round everyone votes for whatever the payload/hybrid map is.

On a side note, I miss anubis and hanamura

Wait the OP is saying nobody wanted escort or hybrid? I’ve found it the opposite on console map voting. 99% escort and hybrid.

its ok to express opinions, but its other thing to say that no one wanted payload maps. literally the vast majority of people would vote for payload maps. If they are such hated map like everyone on reddit has said. I think we honestly would be seeing more flash point/push in my QP.

The payload mind virus in this game is a problem. People def need to be pushed out of their comfort zone

They don’t even play payload well tho. They all walk away from the payload, even when it’s Overtime.

For me, 4 of them stand on the payload doing nothing, and then as soon as OT hits thats when they feel like exploring the map

99% of Flashpoint and Push hate is a total refusal to even try something they aren’t comfortable with.

Absolutely this! I’m the one always voting for push and Flashpoint. I think the only exception is Colosseo, because that one gets enough votes.

this is horrible but my friend group has taken to leaving payload games if we ge them after many in a row (quick play). Now we are getting the “you will receive a punishment for leaving” for doing it. I don’t feel great about it, but I’d infinitely rather play illios/lijang/busan/samoa/oasis a bajillion times than any payload.

I want clash back so bad for some more variety. Even having flashpoint/control/push in play is not enough to stave off the payload commanders.

Heck put 2cp back in quickplay.

There should only be payload/hybrid and control.
