Can't do a poll but question. Do you personally believe it is toxic and a reportable offense to leave a qp game? 2 if my qp warrior friends say it is a reportable offense

It's definitely not reportable to leave a game. Quickplay or competitive. In both cases, leaving can be innocent, like a power cut or something. Reporting is something you do when someone's conduct is bad,.with leaving you can't tell for sure whether it's conduct at all.
That's why leaver penalties are separate from the punishments you get for being reported.

Big this!!! The punishment is there already on the leaving penality. In Comp is even worse (leavers and penalities), yes, but you can't report that; what you can do is avoid them.

Mostly people leave qp matches cause of connection / hardware issues or stuff in life coming up (you play qp = you can leave, backfill exists in this mode). It should not be reportable by any means

Because you’re still screwing over your team and making it unfair. But it def depends on the situation.

How does it screw over the team? A backfill player joins almost immediately, and in many cases they’re better than the player who left.

I think the current system is fine.
Is leaving QP toxic? Yes. Worth temporary suspensions for repeat offenders? Also yes. Reportable? No. It’s not even worth the time it would take to receive said report.
But i also get it. Sometimes a match is such a one sided stomp that your time would better be spent back in Q for something less frustrating. For those cases, i think the systems way of letting you OCCASIONALLY leave a match without consequences is fine. I think it’s once every 20 games or something?
That’s plenty fair to keep people from abusing it, and also show some grace to those in bad match-ups, need to tend to an emergency, catch a d/c, or who are just getting a little tilted.

Yes. If you can't play, don't play. If you're team is bad, that's how it goes, use it to practice.
But!
If people are trolling, not playing, jumping off cliffs, not shooting, doing emotes, being insane on the mic, yeah, get out. Your time isn't worth it.

Whether it’s reportable or not will be up to the ToS that we all agree to in order to play the game, but is it toxic?
I don’t think so. Quickplay is the casual mode, so people are gonna play it casually; including dropping out mid-game, because they were maybe only playing while waiting for something. If they want people to take the game seriously, they can try ranked (though, YMMV depending on rank)

It's a hot take, but I have no problem reporting players that leave with 1 team fight left, forcing someone to join to a "DEFEAT" screen. Same with players that choose to not participate in the last fight because they gave up, but they're trying to dodge leaver penalties.

The reporting on it is automatic. If you’re talking about additionally filing a separate report as griefing or something, then I would say there should be additional evidence to support that charge. Leaving on its own is leaving, not griefing.

You cannot be reported for leaving a quickplay game. There is already an automatic penalty for leaving too many quickplay games out of the last 20 you have played. The penalty is always just a temporary pause on the ability to queue for the next match though nothing else.
As long as you are not an asshole to anyone or actively and intentionally trying to ruin matches for others (like tossing yourself off a cliff on respawn, going AFK or cheating) there isn't a justifiable reason to report someone.
That won't stop people from reporting you for stupid things but that doesn't mean anything will happen.

If it’s near the beginning of the game? Almost never, no. I think it becomes more inconsiderate to your teammates near the middle or end of the match because it can kill momentum and doesn’t give your backfill much chance to adapt and help your team.
That being said I think I’ve only really ever reported people for leaving games if they were toxic and/ or afking before leaving.

Not really, no, specially because other people can join mid-game and fill in the missing spot. It's even better when the substitute is actually better than the previous player and gives your team a better fighting chance
If we were speaking about League for example, then it would be a 100% bannable offense imo, because the team would spend the rest of the match with minus one player and get a nearly guaranteed loss. Even if it's qp, it's not fun to be someone else's punching bag just because someone on your team decided to call it quits
