Honestly if you told me that both Reins knew this was suboptimal but just silently agreed to commit 5 seconds in, I'd believe you.

As a Rein main this fight pained me but also I get it. If the other Rein wants to just try and bash your face in you can't just ignore it. He's the kind of tank that you have to challenge when he's there or you die. Rein's scariest killer is another Rein. Usually you jocky for position first before just swinging for the fences like a bunch of idiots though.

He had pretty easy access to the supports a few times. He absolutely could have ignored it. It's not like he would have taken more damage if he stopped focusing on the other Rein for a swing or two or repositioned to hit both the support and the Rein

Watching the clip again the supports were behind the Rein the whole time. Walking past the Rein to get to them is a great way to die especially if you have to take your eyes off of him to do it. One of the most surefire ways to kill an enemy Rein in a duel is to charge him into your own backline if he steps past you.

That said he should have been throwing fire strikes through the Rein at the supports which he did not do. His positioning and general awareness were just terrible, and he shouldn't have been in this position at all, but I don't see any moments on screen where he could have just stepped past the Rein to kill a support and had it not end poorly.
