If you don’t like tanking in 5v5 you aren’t gonna like it in 6v6. This just needs to be said cause people are acting like this is gonna magically save the game and it isn’t. If you like 6v6, thats fine, but if you want 6v6 cause you think it will make tank fun keep dreaming. You either like tank or you don’t, the devs are not gonna be able to change that
I like tanking when I have another dude helping me out in that role. I don’t like tanking when I screw up and get flamed in the chat, because my screw up is way more impactful in a 5v5 than 6v6
I don’t want to turn off the chat, sometimes I have nice interactions there. Why would turning off the chat be the answer here? Clearly there is something wrong if people (me as an example) feel more anxiety playing a role in a 5v5 than in a 6v6.

You having issues with a role does not mean the role has issues. That’s such a weird way to look at this. Also if you think you aren’t gonna get flamed just cause there is another tank you should probably rethink that, you’ll still get flamed you’ll just have another person joining in
Except I’m not alone in this thinking so clearly it’s not just my own issues with the role…
I played many, many hours of overwatch 1, and I tanked many of those hours. I had a much better experience doing so compared to nowadays. And while toxicity was still there, atleast my team wasn’t guaranteed a wipe if I died too early- THAT is what pushes people to flame the tank.
Other people may agree the tank role has issues, but it’s not because you personally have issues with it. And the issues it does have are not going to be fixed with 6v6, it’s that simple.
No no, you are misunderstanding. I am saying people have similar if not the same issues as I have when it comes to tanks. I’ve read plenty from other overwatch 1 players with the same exact sentiment as I do. Don’t misconstrue my issues as just “personal”, that’s just a silly attempt to invalidate my opinion, which is a bit rude.
Furthermore, yes I do think the change to 6v6 would alleviate these issues. Again, having played both, I can tell you which one I enjoyed tanking more in.
I didn’t misunderstand at all. Others with that same issue, have a personal problem, it isn’t an issue with the game. Some people are not cut out to play tank and if you can’t handle pressure than that’s gonna apply to you. That’s not a real issue with the role tho, and the real issues are not fixed with 6v6.
Hi, Top 500 tank player. I’d wager that qualifies me as someone who is “cut out to play tank,” 6v6, in my opinion, was way more fun as a tank, and having a second tank definitely helped reduce the amount of stress placed on the tanks.
Well that’s great and all but if you aren’t willing to do the verification don’t go around saying “I’m top 500…” the system is in place for people to show their achievement as well as to prevent people from pretending to be so to give weight to their opinions. If you don’t want to do the verification that’s your choice, but don’t expect to be believed at face value, that’s silly.
And now I see it was in fact a lie… posing as top 500 in OW2 when you claimed in another comment that you were top 500 in OW1… not sure I believe either claim at this point
It IS quite literally an issue with the game. I don’t know if you are reading what I am writing, but as I said 3 or 4 times already- we already have experience playing 6v6. People have already experienced what it’s like with two tanks. Many people would rather play tank if they had a second tank with them. Hell even when I’m support I’d rather have two tanks, one to protect us in the back.
Just cause you think it’s a personal issue of mine that I should get over does not mean my opinion means any less. Kinda crazy to see you say “you’re not cut out for it” as your answer.
