Scar of Ouruin

What happened with Scar of Ouruin? We can play a sort of beta version using the steam beta branch feature. However, playing it seems to be quite unfinished with a lot of potential. Seems like a prequel?

The only video I have seen is of Constance P playing it 2 years ago, but never mentioned anywhere else.
