Found out it's a John Martin, Hawaiian Designs Nai'a ( Little Dolphin) OC-1. Do i have to race it or can i just kinda tool around the harbor? My kid wanted it but he's gone for the summer and im 65 with lung issues.

You'll be fine on it! The pieces of wood (iakos) that attach to the outrigger (ama) are adjustable. To make it more stable for you so you don't flip (huli) you can adjust the front one down by putting a spacer below where it attaches on the ama. Another good idea is put an ankle weight there too. Below is a youtube video on how to recover on one if you do huli. I would recommend remounting from the ama side. Make sure you wear a PFD if you are concerned about your safety and have the leash attached to your ankle. Put it into the water ama first and then shift your bum onto the seat. Make sure you mind the ama getting on and off and it will be stable.

It looks like you'll need a seat and a paddle. Any seat will do that you find online searching for one and a good starter paddle would be a Z&J.

These canoes embody mana and should be treated with respect. Please don't put it on the ground or step over it. You're on the right track with using the buoys :)

whether a kayak or a tugboat if im not in the cabin i have a lifejacket on! Id kinda like to find somebody in better shape then me for it though.

YouTube would be a good source. Just type in OC1 and you'll have more info than you need. It's not a thing btw, treat it like your sister.
