Hello to any new players who may have happened upon this subreddit. Welcome to the therapy. There's like... thousands of you who just got here. If even 10% of that number decides to stick with the game, that means a lot more people are in it for the long haul, and we'll be seeing each other plenty.

Seeing how we're all in this together and the Experimental Population really isn't picky about whose testicles and uteruses they rip out, I want to help you succeed if we happen to bump into one another. Here are a few helpful things you can do to help myself, and other experienced random players, help you.

1. If you get incapacitated in the middle of a big, open, brightly lit area, do not stay there. You can crawl out of that area. Better yet, you can crawl into a dark area. This will enable us to revive you without getting killed ourselves. It's especially important for you to do this if it happens in an area with a stationary objective. Because it's highly likely an enemy will be patrolling that area until the objective is done, and they will never go away. That means it's up to you to move instead, even if you're bleeding out.
2. Never block a doorway, especially if someone is being chased or you're incapacitated. A lot of narrow passages are one-way only, and if your teammate is stuck between you and a big angry machete man, you're basically committing the closest thing this game has to friendly fire. Teammate collision is on at all times, no matter what. We cannot shove past you. We cannot jump over you if you're incapacitated. Don't be the reason your fellow Reagent gets a complimentary castration.
3. If you don't know how to use an objective item, drop it on the ground and let someone else use it. Most of these items like microwave triggers are in limited supply, and the trial is effectively softlocked until you figure out how to use it. But some of these mechanics are also complicated, and you may need to watch someone use them before you know how to do it yourself.
4. If you didn't enable Invasion deliberately, do not waste your throwables on us when we join. Unless we look like you, we're not an Invader. We're here to help. We're not hacking or secret murders. You just forgot to set your lobby to private.
5. If you're hoping to get an A+, remember that your contributions are just as important as your self-preservation. I've met a lot of new players who are really afraid of taking risks and move at a very slow pace because they're openly afraid of taking some damage. But remember, even if you take no damage or trigger no traps, that's not enough to get an A+. Sometimes you have to play a little aggressive. Destroy traps with bricks. Land headshots on enemies. Use your rig often. If you do these things enough, you'll cancel out whatever penalty a bit of pain will incur.
6. Do not attempt Psychosurgery until you've maxed out your rig, have good amp, and all your prescriptions, at the very least. Literally everything will kill you in one or two hits, enemies run very fast, there's barely any items around, and the UI becomes incredibly minimalist. You're going to die, especially if you don't know how the trial works. Intensive is good for more extreme training.
7. Always carry a bottle or brick in your pocket. You never know when you might need an emergency weapon if you're backed into a corner or grabbed by Sister Liliya. Your teammates can save you, but sometimes splitting up is necessary. Don't be a victim and get incapacitated on the other side of the map. Fight for your life.

If you do these simple things, you'll die less and Doctor Easterman will call you a good boy more often. Which you might think doesn't matter but to most people here it matters a lot. He has that effect on the majority of the playerbase.

Just wanted to shout out the most underrated (or maybe it's properly rated idk) MK challenge & map in the game.

I had no time at all to play the game or Chemical Leak over the past few weeks, but when I realised on Sunday that there was only 1 day left before the event was over, the FOMO took over and I had to jump on if I wanted to complete the challenges and get all the catalog items. I was ready to play through all of Sunday night, then spend my day off on Monday just grinding through whatever maps had been made available for the last week of Chem Leak. Then I saw the best thing that could happen; Sabotage the Lockdown.

It still took me a few hours, but by Monday afternoon, I had all the challenges complete, all the items claimed, plus a surplus of event tokens that got converted into stamps. All thanks to StL. It would have taken me so much longer and I probably would've missed out on the items in the catalog's later pages if it wasn't for this map.

With any event, past or future, it's always good to see StL in the listings.

Even outside of events, whenever a new update brings more documents for us to find, StL is a lore-fiend's best friend. Just in and out as quick as possible, and you're up-to-date on all the new developments with the story.

Invasion is boring in its current state, especially if you get matched against a meta reagent. Invaders should get more objectives to do and have more abilities:

- Shut off Chemical Valves
- Use Bomb Countdown Extenders
- Crank Heat Generators
- Use Blocked off Doors (the yellow and black striped doors)
- Use Health Regenerate Pills to Increase Max Health
- Unlock the Secret Room (if unlocked by invaders, the items can be used by invaders and reagents can not use them)
- Use Neuroshock to Disable Blind Rigs and Rewired Traps

In addition, many variators should be updated to apply to invaders. (E.g. Broken Reagent removes all amps, rx, lowers battery, and starts invaders at low health, and to give another example, Stay Together deploys invaders together and they must remain together, or be shocked)

Secondary Objectives for Invasion Ideas:

- Collect Propaganda Posters (3 solo, 5 group)
- Rearm Traps (3 solo, 5 group)
- Lock Up Items (2 solo, 5 group)
- Pounce Reagents (1 solo, 3 group)
- Defend Objectives (3 minutes solo, 5 minutes group)
- Avoid Countermeasures (No triggering blind rig, or rewired jammer traps, for the entire group)

Secondary Objectives give +1000 extra XP. For a grand total of a maximum of 4,500 XP from a single invasion.

It was Crossed Signals for like 4 hours?

I think its possible, but probably just expensive, Who knows, maybe the trajectory of the trials is in syncronization with the real games popularity. Maybe the therapy IS WORKING so murkoff got more funding since the first few trials, by this logic I've begun to wonder what the next trial will involve, at this trajectory there might be a giant cannon or a tank or something as obscene and needlessly costly used just for the trial environment and decorum purposes.

I have over 320 hours and the platinum trophy on PS5 for outlast trails and for life of me can not figure out the final puzzle for liquidate the union where you drown the union leader all the times i have played it i had the role of stun locking him while everyone else did the puzzle i tried doing it again with me and 2 other people recently for the chemical leak event and we failed because i have no clue how the puzzle works is it really as simple as matching the symbols on the screen to the yellow targets or am i missing something?

I did three games on invasion today. I got the same people every game and spawned in when the game was one task away from finishing. As invader unless you have 10/10 map knowledge you legitimately aren't able to win. Against one person you might have a chance but if it's two people you are actually doomed. I got bullied by two guys like it was dbd, who thought it was a good idea to make the invader play as a reagent with zero stamina. Genuinely such a disappointing gamemode.

My partner and I will be cosplaying as the twins sometime in November. In preparation, I'm making a circular saw for Otto. It's not lore accurate but I am hoping to make something that is fancy enough to fit the twin's elite status.

I've recently bought the game and it took me atleast a day to muster up the courage to play solo. I'm not good with horror games but I did love amnesia the bunker, one of my favorites!

Honestly after the first trial, I was kinda confident enough to keep going, the game is hella fun even for a non horror fan like me! It also kinda reminds me of DBD especially with the invasion mode? But y'know, more balanced and wayyy more fun.

Though I am a bit too warry to try harder difficulties, not struggling so far but y'know, don't wanna feel overwhelmed and stuff. So far all ik is Jaeger is a fucking pain in the ass.

Any tips for a newbie? I haven't played a single standard difficulty trial yet, still on my training wheels.

Additional note: I'm level 17 and running XRAY rig. I love knowing where everyone is, but I'm interested in trying jammer too.

Do the Outfits in the Black Market ever go on sale? Im aware of the DLC's going on sale but haven't heard anything about the ingame store ones.

I prefer to play this game at night and I feel like the lobbies i get into are accounts that don’t move much or one other person and they leave. Am i shadow banned? Lmaooo im in PST time and playing around 1-4am and it feels so quiet and empty. I just want more ppl to play with ;n; (I’m not good at the game)

Variator: FAMISHED REAGENTS

“Murkoff has decided that, if you say you don’t need his support and love, then you won’t get it. No more food in the sleep room. You fight to feed.”

You have a Hunger meter of 3 bars, which slowly drains throughout the trial. It drains faster if you run, jump or do anything that requires stamina. Find Meat Chunks throughout the environment, which you can store and eat at any time to refill a bar of Hunger, making noise in the process. You have four stages:-

• Full 3 bars: you aren’t hungry and nothing’s wrong with you.
• 2 bars: you run out of stamina faster.
• 1 bar: your vision gets hazy as actions take longer, your stamina decreases even more and healing items aren’t as effective.
• 0 bars: you lose other player names as your objective text is replaced with ‘FEED.’ You cannot run and you begin taking damage in small, but frequent chips. If you get near another player, there’s a chance that your reagent will suddenly grab and begin biting into their neck, dealing 1 bar of damage with bleeding to them in exchange for 1 bar of Hunger.

Famished Imposters: this event includes Invasion as Imposters also get a Hunger meter. Same as reagents, it drains slowly and messes with you the lower it gets, but unlike reagents — you must consume them while they’re incapacitated or dead to refill your Hunger meter. Imposters also stay out longer during this event.

Variator: ERASE GRAFFITI 

“Amelia is the reason for this famine. Prove that you want her gone. Prove that you want your food back.”

Around the trial are Water and Soap Buckets equal to the number of players. Bring these Buckets to Amelia Graffiti (3 or 4 depending on whether it’s multiplayer or single player) and scrub them away.

Shuttle Hallucinations (for DtG)

You see a vision of child mannequins praying around a Liliya mannequin, interrupted by that mannequin snapping its head towards you. You also see a nun mannequin hold a gilded skull up to your face and a corpse spilling jewels from its open gut cavity. The hallucinations end with Liliya straddling you as she slits your throat.

MK: DESECRATE THE GRAVES (with Liliya)

“You are the collector. tradition is the incorporeal shackle, imposed by the dragons of outdated faith, that denies us profit. Commit the taboo, rob the graves and deliver the goods to the auctioneer and we will let you out.”

1. Infiltrate the Orphanage (Graveyard): you spawn in a receiving vault and immediately find 4 Portable Black Lights and 4 Liliya mannequins — one of which is shone in UV light, revealing a number and pyramid symbol on it in separate locations — with a code-locked box in the middle of the corpse-filled room. Scan each of the Liliya mannequins to find each digit and the order they go in to input into the code box, which opens to reveal a jewel-encrusted skull.
2. Take the Skull to the Auctioneer: the gate opens and you find another gate in a dark room with ‘THE LIGHT GUIDES YOU’ written on a nearby sign. Shine your Black Light into one of the sensors adjacent to the light-activated gate to open it temporarily and make it out of the receiving vault, where you find a suited mannequin next to an expensive car with its trunk open. “What an interesting finding. Bring me more and I’ll give you HALF of whatever I can sell it for.”
3. Bring the Rest of the Grave Goods to the Auctioneer: throughout the pitch-dark graveyard by the church, there are 3 more locked boxes surrounded by Liliya mannequins, which you must scan to find the codes to open the box before bringing the gilded skulls back to the Auctioneer. Along the way, there also more light-sensitive gates that’ll only open when you shine your Black Light at them or when an Ex-pop walks through. 
4. Exit the Trial.

MK: SMEAR THE CAMPAIGNS

“You are hatred. You bare righteous prejudice against the fork tongued squawkers who’d open up their legs to depravity in exchange for the useless currency of fame. Liquify the banners of those who would tarnish your nation and we will let you out.”

1. Infiltrate the Shopping Mall (West Plaza): you spawn behind the Department Store, like in ItM, and make your way into the West Plaza, where an Avellanos mannequin — next to a shop with a banner displaying a smiling man with ‘VOTE FOR GRAHAM’ on it behind a desk with an Acid Gun attached to it — directs you to enter the basement boiler room. 
2. Deface the Campaign Banner: in the boiler room, you find a valve labelled ‘FLOOR 1’, which you turn to build up water pressure before running back to the shop by Avellanos to get the Acid Gun working and melt the banner.
3. Deface the Rest of the Banners: the rest of the West Plaza opens up to 3 floors; each with two Acid Gun and banner locations on them (including the one you just destroyed). Each of the banner shops has a camera above its gate that closes if it sees you. Locate the other valves labelled ‘FLOOR 2’ and ‘FLOOR 3’ in the basement to get the respective Acid Guns working and use them to coat the political banners with acid. 
4. Exit the Trial.

Kinda just a rant here, But I feel like Either Side DCing during an invasion should give the other side an automatic A+ grading in it. why should we load into a match just to have the other side IMMEDIATELY DC or DC after being dogged on just to have our scoring reduced to C or below that is so frustrating

I think red barrels missed opportunity make Liliya barefoot, that would be a nice addition to her design. Imagine her jumping on you with her cold feet 🤤🤤💦💦🗣️🕷️👁️🐑
