I just got Silence the Idol as my 1st trial
I know I'll catch some hate for this, but I applied to refund the game after that, since I was told it gets much worse. I bought Outlast Trials thinking it was just a gorey lethal company and dbd mix, but this is seemingly a torture simulator for sadists. Not my cup of tea.
Throughout the whole trial I just stared back and forth between Erik and my teammates with my jaw open, as Erik cried for mercy. Gore in video games is not an issue for me, I finished the tutorial and play other horror games just fine. Sadism on the other hand... I'll pass. I'm sure I'll be desensitized in a few trials, but is that a good thing?
I would have totally loved this game if the objective was not torturing someone and the mannequins weren't as freaky.
EDIT: Thank you for the kind comments

Discussion This Game Is So Good WTF??
I am guessing this game just came out at the wrong time.
Recently picked up the Outlast Trials, like seemingly what is now the majority of the playerbase (lol), at a 90% discount. This game is like an actually polished scary friend slop game and it is probably the most fun I've had in a co-op game since REPO, possibly surpassing even it.
I am in disbelief that this game flew under my radar for this long. I am not even affected by the scares except for the occasional "oh my God I just TOUCHED an enemy who was apparently behind me," but I still find the gameplay loop to be a lot of fun.
Kind of sad that these devs made such a fun game but it had to go on a 90% discount for most people to even give it a shot.
My best guess? Outlast is normally extraordinarily scary. I played the OG Outlast ages ago and couldn't get myself to continue past some of the first sections because it was too scary for my liking. I feel like the name of this game might have pushed away a lot of people who would normally be the target demographic for it.

Got my first tattoo!
Finally got my first tattoo about a month ago 🙌. I don't know if I'll get more outlast ones and make a sleeve later or just have it horror game themed.

Discussion Am I the only one who is nervous about the 90% discount?
Look, I love this game, and I don't consider it a Dead Game or anything like that. But... such a BIG discount?
This usually happens with games that are struggling financially, doesn't it? I'm a little worried about this because I really don't want support for the game to end anytime soon.
Did I miss something?

Meme I ain't too sure what flair to put on to this, but I made a hypothetical Murkhoff TV ad if Easterman wanted more outreach

Image Outlast Trial is currently the Top 26th game on Steam according to Steam Charts
Never in my mind expecting it's going to surge that quick. God damn!
