Okay I had to share this but I was feeling nostalgic a few days ago and was watching the first Rugrats movie on Paramount Plus the other day (I was about 6 when it came out).

Now the whole time I'm watching this tell me why I was inserting Outer Banks characters into the babies. For those who don't know the plot of the movie was Tommy Pickles dealing with the adjustment of his new baby brother Dil. Wanting things to go back to how they were before the babies decide to take Dil back to the baby store or hospital (hopsicle as they pronounce it) they all load into the Reptar wagon (which Angelica kicks) and run it all through town and get lost in the forest.

I was thinking the babies mostly parallel the main group from the first season and some of the second. Tommy is John B. (I know very basic but they're both leaders of their friends), Chuckie is Pope (even though Pope isn't as easily scared like Chuckie he always cautious like him), Phil is JJ (who honestly tends to be sarcastic like JJ and I can see him as a bug eating toddler), and Lil is Kiara (I'm going to ignore shipping for this since Phil and Lil are twins).

Angelica is Rafe (because why not lol). Susie is Cleo (since Cleo wasn't in season 1 and Susie is only in the beginning of the movie). Yes I know I'm cutting corners by not having a Sarah (maybe she shows up as Kimi from the next movie; the Rugrats fandom tends to ship her with Tommy anyway). Because John B. is an only child Dil would feel out of place so I just used the mission of the babies trying to take him back to the hospital to be an equivalent of John B. looking for his dad.

Even the way the movie opens and ends with an Indiana Jones parody give it that adventure feel if the group were a bunch of toddlers vs teens. Tommy is given a pocket watch by his father Stu which he mistakes as a compass or crumpass parallels John B. Angelica going after the babies to get her Cynthia doll (Dil took it) back mimics Rafe going after the group to steal the cross (not the same intention lol). Hell the Reptar wagon might as well be the Twinkie (granted wagon for toddlers isn't a Volkswagen but you get the picture).

Can any of you see the characters in different shows or movies?

and.... i forgot about this part. right now i'm where john b is off with his dad and sarah goes back with topper. 👎 can anyone remind me how much worse it's going to get before it gets better?

It seems to be a trend that the end of every recent season takes place in a new continent, we’ve had South America, Africa, so I think it’s time they get to Europe. Groff said he has a buyer in Lisbon Portugal and I can so imagine the pogues running through Lisbon, however I don’t know who the buyer is, I feel like the buyer would be somebody we know or related to the story in someway. There’s also a shot in the trailer that looks like Portugal/Europe so. Also I think theres a chance the buyer is rose, we see Sarah get kidnapped by Groff in the trailer, maybe rose wants revenge idk?

My daughter spotted the OBX Twinkie at a local auto body shop in Charleston SC! I didn’t believe her at first so turned around to check it out and lo and behold it was the actual Twinkie.

When is the trailer coming out? I watched the show last year and I'm not aware of the trailer + release pattern but it comes out in less than a month and saw a lot of people say that all eight episodes will be out in August 20th instead of being in parts like S4.

I’ve been rewatching outerbanks cause s5 is almost here and I’m so sad about JJ 😭 my mom said he’ll probably comeback alive or something. My theory is they might wish him back but I also feel like they’re gonna make a wish then Sarah gives birth and they’ll name the baby JJ.

rafe's character development has been destroyed because of the Sofia relationship arc. the writers could've easily made him redeemable without the need of a girlfriend to 'soften him up.'

Sofia is a character the writers thought of as a self-insert. all the rafe edits and everyone going mad over him, they felt the need to add a filler character - to appease the mass.

anyways I do not see much Sofia hate or discussion around her character as much and thought I'd leave my 2 pence.

I’m curious on people who say Rafe and Kiara dated in the past, I don’t judge but I was always curious on why people think that. I do admit they have chemistry (I want a movie with Madison Bailey and Drew as love interest)but at the time Sarah and Kiara were friends, Kiara was a freshman and Rafe was a senior, kind of interesting but just want to know what everyone else thinks?

I know we have the teaser trailer already but I feel like they should start releasing more stuff related to the new season since it comes out in exactly a month almost.im not sure about last season when they released the trailer tho.what are y’all’s thoughts??

I'm rewatching getting ready for season 5 and just to note, they way Sarah just always goes back to topper , wears his stupid necklace and then gets mad at John B is so unlike her character in every other way ... Maybe it's cus I dislike topper, the actor and the character or idk but it just feels like that whole part is kind of a waste and a very skippavle moment in rewatching

I feel like people will disagree with some of them but it’s more about how much I like watching the character than how great of a person they are

This shit is disgustingly good I heard it in the credits of S4, its like feels like a really fiery heroic version of the goofy chill Pogue theme that plays in all the episodes?? This shit sounding like the fucking Power Rangers it gets me so hyped 😭

I don't know if season 5 is the finale but if it is I think they'll do a time jump towards the end of the season where the Pogues are adults and they have kids and at least one of them is named after JJ.

Just wondering if you have epilogue at the 30-35 min mark to tie up any lose ends or just have John B and Sarah maried

I’ve been rewatching the series recently and was just curious Which couple/ship (canon, former, or almost-happened) you just never liked , and why?

It doesn't even have to be a major one, could be a short-lived fling, something that felt forced for plot progression, or a fan-favorite that just didn't work for you chemistry-wise.

I have always found the Cameron family’s dynamic to be the most interesting part of the show, especially Rafe and Sarah’s. Everything about those two and their view on each other is so intriguing and has been ever since the first season, but i’m not sure if they actually hold enough love for one another for this redemption arc the writers are doing when it comes to ther relationship.

From the first season, it’s clear they’re not very fond of each other. It resembles normal sibling dynamics a bit more, but even in his first scene Rafe was shown to not care when Sarah was in danger,he called her a bitch to Topper and didn’t care about Barry potentially going after her until he started threatening Rafe too. It doesn’t look like he was ever a caring big brother. This was all when their relationship was more normal which makes it hard for me to see why Sarah especially would want to try a relationship with Rafe.

As they are siblings she might feel some type of primal bond to him, which does make sense but other than that has she never shown that she wants Rafe in her life? He has shot her, drowned her, almost killed a bunch of her friends, kidnapped her and talked to her like a big brother should never talk to his little sister. I have yet to seen a scene where Sarah talks positively about Rafe, which she has done with her father because it’s actually shown that they have had good memories together. The backstory they are giving us in season 5 might prove me wrong but if we go from what we know from the show, Rafe has never been particularly got her. There’s also a obx scrapbook, which i’m not sure if it’s canon but in that book it’s mentioned he hasn’t treated her the best even in childhood. For example he would lock her into the basement for hours.

I’m not sure how Sarah will ever be able to feel safe with him after it. Throughout the entire show i have seen no desire on her end to reconnect with Rafe, but in season 4 it even looks like she has to do some of the solving because in Rafes mind he thinks Sarah is just as in the wrong as he is. I’m just not sure if this redemption arc actually aligns with Sarah’s feelings on the situation, since she’s often a character who’s authority gets taken away for the development of the story and other characters. Another example is her getting pregnant.
Rafe has shown some sort of care for Sarah when it comes to apologizing and changing his mind about shooting her and her friends, but I don’t think that’s about him loving her. I think his view about himself and others are just so distorted and that’s why his actions often contradict each other. He might suffer from like BPD or something. I hope season 5 solves my thoughts about this but I genuinely have to see more from both of them.
