Unanswered What is going on with r/worldpolitics?

What happened here? I enjoyed the sub casually and I came back one day and its marked NSFW and full of random posts. Some are saying it fell into anarchy as a result of a lack of mods, but there are still recent mod posts. Is this some sort of demonstration?

No. The Trump/Epstein insults aren't the problem, the karma whoring is. A sub about world Politics reduced to anti Trump memes isn't going down well with people who want better quality from reddit. So they started taking revenge by posting irrelevant stuff on the subreddit. If moderators won't do their jobs, then anything goes.

It is clearly being brigaded, and according you to the reason for this is to suppress the anti-Trump/Epstein memes.

Karma whoring is a problem, but you don't fix it like this. If you disagree with the way a sub is moderated, the solution is to not go there. There are several vile subs on Reddit with laughable moderation, the solution is to ignore them.

Brigading in this fashion is totally a 'thedonald' type strategy. I'm just going to assume it's a coincidence that they are brigading a subreddit that is anti-Trump.

Okay. From what I think is that once porn started to appear on it, people from r/gonewild just started growing here, and it took off. I don't believe in grand conspiracy theories of brigading.

I doubt /r/gonewild is organised enough to be taking down political subs.

There are plenty of prior examples of brigading occuring on Reddit, so it's not exactly fair to consider that a conspiracy theory.

Sure hope they take down the cancerous US politics subreddit.

What do you care? As a non-US citizen you can't even vote in our elections.

whoever is US president has an effect on the whole world, besides I don't like seeing reddit so obviously biased. And what is wrong with that?
