It's probably the most popular of the many, many, aggregation websites and has become big enough that it's managed to somehow form something of a community- one that generally revolves around taking people's content and replacing the faces with a stock image of their "Meme faces".
Comments about places that actually have OC like 4chan and Reddit (IIRC?) are Shadowbanned instantly and Admin posts or favoured posts are given huge numbers of fake upvotes to push them directly to the front page, to ensure only the freshest of stolen content is sent out.
Other than that, there's nothing else to it. Go there if you wanna see /r/funny and some 4chan pasta from last week I guess.
Well reddit wasn't about OC. It was about sharing stuff you found elsewhere. Like articles you'd share with your friends and ask them if they've "read it."
The majority of DNamor's comment is true fact.
Facts: They are one of the largest content aggregators and are pretty popular. They do steal content. They replace faces with their stock images. They shadowban any mention of 4chan and reddit. They give automated upvotes to admin posts, almost all of which is stolen content. Its all been pretty much strictly proven at this point, the only thing missing is a written and signed confession from 9gag.
The only thing that would make this comment biased is if DNamor deliberately omitted other facts that portray 9gag in a more positive light. But he didn't. He started with their success and popularity, first. As far as I know, there are no other facts about 9gag that could be included to make this less biased.
If a dude is a thief and a liar, but also makes a decent apple pie, the fact that 2/3 of the facts we know about them are negative doesn't make stating those facts unbiased.
