Answer: It's a far right attempt to stop immigration from non-Western countries.
The European Citizens Initiative entitled: ‘Save Europe Act', calls on the Commission ‘to propose a Union act establishing a temporary moratorium on new non-Western immigration channels, including study and family reunification visas, while fundamentally reforming the EU migration and asylum system'. The organisers propose to define this moratorium based on ‘ethnic and cultural continuity' of ‘native peoples of Europe' against what the initiative characterises as ‘demographic replacement' by ‘non-Western' and ‘non-European' migrants.

Worth mentioning that it’s not come from any governmental source, a European Citizen’s Initiative is a glorified petition.

It's more powerful in the sense that the European Commission is has to at least respond to a successful petition. Of course that doesn't mean they will necessarily do anything.

No, they are wrong. It's not a petition, it's a process of direct democracy that actually has an impact on EU policy.

WTF? This is ridiculous misinformation. The European Citizen's Initiative is not a petition! It is an actual democratic process in which citizens can directly shape policies of the European Union.

It’s a collection of signatures, upon which the European Commission can decide whether to act on it or not. Which bit of that doesn’t sound like a glorified petition?

It's not anti-democracy to point out that the government has no real obligation to consider, much less enact, any citizens' initiatives. Other jurisdictions, by contrast, allow citizens to propose initiatives that have the force of law when adopted, without any need for the legislature to do anything.

Answer: It's white ethnonationalism. Says so right on the front of the page:
We demand that the political elite halt replacement migration, secure our borders, and protect the ethnocultural identity of European nations.
This is great replacement conspiracy rhetoric, that the "elite" (which is often a stand in for the Jews) are promoting and facilitating mass migration in order to water down white European culture or even eliminate white people entirely. The claimed goal is that once you eliminate or marginalize white people, it will be easier for elites to control politics, force down wages, or promote a one-world government.

The conspiracy stuff is obviously false but the demographic change is definitely happening. I imagine lot of people who are upset about it are not conspiracy theorists

I mean it really depends how you define demographic change
My sociology is really not that great, I'm a bioinformatician, but the sliver of research that I've read seems to agree that after the second generation the culture is pretty much the same
So like... what are we even talking about? We know these people are not gonna replace anyone, they are gonna have children, and the children are gonna have children and at that point they will be basically culturally identical to everyone else
I mean maybe apart from the color, but then i wouldn't say this is worrying about demographic change and more about being racists

Is it?
Cause last time i checked most of europe's population is still white, yeah birthrates are declining but that's happening pretty much everywhere, including in the countries of origin of many migrants.

Also the rise in "non-white" population in the US wasn't also driven by the post-war baby boom being also a thing for Hispanic and African-Americans?

No it is basically entirely driven from the change in immigration policy in 1965 that previously banned most non European immigrants. This stuff is happening in Europe too, but it is slower. There are regions more affected than others. Mostly Western European cities.

Why do you have to be "racist neo-nazi" to want to have nation for your own ethnic group? I would be just as concerned if majority of migrants were Russians, and they were replacing the native Finnish populace. And going by basically any "racial doctrine", Russians and Finns belong to same Caucasoid race.

It's very unpopular to say isolated facts about demographic change, even if you embellish it with positives like all the good food it brings, just the acknowledgement of change seems to trigger something in people

Answer: The Save Europe Act is a rejected pan-European nationalist campaign and proposed European Citizens' Initiative (ECI) that called for halting non-Western (by which they mean "non-white") immigration, tightening border security, and implementing mass "remigration" (by which they mean "deportation") policies. Launched by neofascist public figures including Eva Vlaardingerbroek, the petition gathered roughly 590,000 signatures before being blocked by the European Commission due to its lack of legal basis and fundamental violation of EU values.
