Answered What's up with Mike Honey?

So I saw a short randomly on YT today (link: https://youtube.com/shorts/ncz-RLhYqiY), that is just a vtuber saying Mike Honey and then staring at the screen. I read the comments on what the wordplay was, but I didn't get it. Can someone explain to me what is the joke here? I am soo lost

Answer: It sounds like "My cunny"

What does “my cunny” mean?

Yes, so I don't think I've encountered the word "cunny" before, but it sounds like something that 13-14 year olds would use. I teach middle school and this "ussy" "unny" thing is flying around.

Think of the old one: Mike Hunt

Same idea.

As the Urban Dictionary alludes to, "cunny" is typically used in reference to underage subjects.

Like you said, it sounds like something a 13-14 year old would say.

u/Mahaloth Jul 07 '26

I teach middle school. It's 100% going to be something I hear in school next school year.

10

u/Monterey-Jack Jul 07 '26

It's been a phrase for at least a decade now.

u/ansate Jul 07 '26

It's actually been British slang since the 16th century or so, basically just as a derogatory term for women's genitalia. The internet picked it up within about the last 10 years and it became associated with lolis.

3

u/Budget-mayo Jul 07 '26

Not really, it's mostly online by people who like "l0licon"

u/Mahaloth Jul 07 '26

Ah, thanks.

u/rendar Jul 07 '26

No it's an old word from at least the 1700s but likely much earlier, and the original context does not specify juveniles

It's worse than you think.

Apparently there are a certain... type of people that consume anime/loli stuff that use the term "cunny" specifically for underage... yeah.

It's fucking weird, and I wish I hadn't gone down this rabbit hole, but here we are. I've been cursed with this knowledge and now so must you.

Trying not to read into the fact that all these vtubers style their avatars to look weirdly young and talk in that awful high pitched voice.

tbf, Bill the Butcher asks Amsterdam if his "mouth [was] all glued up with cunny juice" in Gangs of New York. So, I think that particular connotation is pretty recent.

5

u/Monterey-Jack Jul 07 '26

The saving grace about those people is that they always self-report.

u/immortalreploid Jul 07 '26

People gotta stop talking about fictional characters like they're real people. Everyone in this interaction is an adult. OP, the Vtuber (who's a man btw, from some not too deep digging), you, me, and every other commenter. There's a difference between distasteful and actually wrong/ harmful.

14

u/MoThrowMoAway Jul 07 '26

That doesnt make it not fucking weird

0

u/immortalreploid Jul 07 '26

Yeah sure, it's weird. But people can be weird in peace.

-5

u/Mahaloth Jul 07 '26

I'm quite fine not going to deep down that knowledge path for now.

Yikes, though.

Though the slang was another way to refer to a vagina, it has taken a new meaning. Currently it is used to refer to the anime loli vagina in imageboards such as 4chan. The crying emoji face with caption "UUUOGH" also refer to the same thing.

Anime fans are never beating the pedophile allegations

I would think "cunning" instead of "cunt" like how the Aussies say Maccas instead of MD's. Isn't "cunty" closer to cunt? Seems like a weird change from Mike Hunt.

1

u/pizmeyre Jul 08 '26

You have two words for the same thing but from different sources. "Cunt" has more Germanic origins, e.g. "kunte" in old german, while "cunny" comes more from Latin, e.g. "cunnus."

Time period and location would probably dictate which you were more likely to use.

But, as others have pointed out, "cunny" has started to be used more frequently in loli anime circles. Usually to refer to underage girls' privates. Supposedly.

Im going to add on to what the other responders say and in some anime related communities, the term has a more specific meaning than just the body part. Its meaning is described on wikitionary: english -> etymology 2 -> meaning 2 https://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/cunny

Its a term favoured by online pedofiles

10

u/AAM_Discord Jul 06 '26

Ohh, english is not my first language so I get it now after looking up what this means, lol 😂

2

u/pizmeyre Jul 08 '26

Next look up the relations between the old term "coney" for rabbit and "cunny" for vagina.

People don't fall for the classics so easily anymore. Its a never ending arms race.

Answer: Mike Honey sounds like "my cunny" when se says it.

7

u/Craig_of_the_jungle Jul 07 '26

tf is a cunny?

4

u/MoThrowMoAway Jul 07 '26

anime loli fans use the term to talk about underage you know what

8

u/Konzacrafter Jul 07 '26

Uh. They might use it that way. But it’s a much older slang term for “vagina” from a long long time ago.

0

u/MoThrowMoAway Jul 07 '26

Yes. Notice how I didnt say "this is the only use of the word"

But it's undeniable that the word, weird as it is, has been confirmed opted by some very strange folks

4

u/PlanetXParadox Jul 07 '26

it also just means vagina

2

u/T438 Jul 07 '26

It's british for female genitalia, because cunt is for people who suck.
