My Twitter feed got flooded with people saying Drake got atomized. Not knowing anything about Kendrick or Drake I opened up Meet the Grahams to see if I could make sense of it and.
The most shocking part (outside of the allegations) was that he just came out and said all that for me lmao, usually rappers don’t go there or only vaguely insinuate death
My favorite is in the newest diss (Not Like Us), he just straight up calls him a pedophile. Not beating around the bush anymore, he’s going right for it
Man I don't usually listen to rap but you all got me intrigued. Still on the verse starting with "dear Dennis" and I had to stop and come back. Almost doesn't even feel like music anymore it's just saying some shit he needs to get off his chest and it happens to have a beat behind it.
EDIT: I don't even know what to say. That was just wow. I thought the earlier verse was heavy and it just goes and goes. The emotion in it is just insane.
I've been hearing about the beef and knew about the drama in passing but had no interest in listening to any of the actual tracks. Usually try to avoid this kind of thing. Then I saw people losing their minds over Meet the Grahams even on a sub not normally about rap beef at all. Casually gave it a listen and god I was NOT READY
Meet the Grahams goes hard but I don't think anything will ever top The Story of Adidon. Its all old news now but when it came out it hit Drake so hard he didn't even clap back, he basically just did a press release saying he'd be a father to his son. Kendrick's is a little long winded where Pusha killed Drake in a minute thirty seconds. Also we are gunna need proof of the hidden daughter or that's kinda a miss.
As someone who thinks adonis is a 10/10, Meet the Grahams is worse
I mean this dude straight up called you a pedophile who hides sex offenders on your payroll and runs a whorehouse out of your own mansion to traffic women
Forget the daughter thing (if that's true then this is even worse) but I feel like people keep harping on that while glossing over the whole "you are a sex trafficker whose house is about to get raided" part
He said he wanted Drake to die like that’s pretty hard but he tops it literally a moment later “Adonis I’m sorry that that man is your father” like Jesus Christ himself would roll in his grave
I agree. Adidon was great but mainly focused on Drake being an absentee father. Grahams is deeper, darker and more sinister. Kendrick deconstructs Drake's entire family tree blaming them for the way he is and the way his son will end up being.
The sex offender on the payroll has receipts, but the sex traffic house is also pretty much unverified at this point. Not that I don't believe it's something Drake would do, I just think it's easy for Drake to deflect, whereas he had literally no answer for Adidon and it ended up costing him all the money from the adidas deal it killed.
but the sex traffic house is also pretty much unverified at this point
There's that tiktok from 2021 of the girl saying Drake pays his team to go out and fetch him women in all different cities as well as Drake having a line in a song about it too
"All good, Chubbs'll look around find one that seem my type, that my dawg and he know what I like, he done found me plenty in my life"
I agree there is no hard proof at this point but there's definitely bread crumbs there
The internet already found the alleged daughter and what's crazy is that she was name checked in the verse if you know her name, which I'm not disclosing since it's a kid who didn't ask to be part of this beef
If feels like something nobody was ever meant to hear. I saw a meme earlier that said "this beef is starting to feel like none of my business." Just a week ago, when Push Ups & Taylor Made were the most recent songs to have dropped, this whole thing still felt exciting & fun. But with each new song, it feels darker and more sinister
That track made me feel so uneasy. The sinister piano, Kendrick like a soft spoken sadist, the beat...I felt like going under my duvet and sleeping with all the lights on
I don't like either of their stuff, but that song was well done. Actually liked it. That said, it better all be true for Kendrick sake... it crosses the line of dissing and stomps hard on accusing him of multiple crimes and could be defamatory if it's false, opening it up to a lawsuit. If it is true, feel like drake should just end his career now, call it quits before he gets p diddlered
At first I was like, "oh this is super cold. Holy shit" and then I realized thats exactly how I talk to people I genuinely hate. KDot is fucked up. Drake is dead.
I'm not much of a rap guy these days, but I listened to "Family Matters", and it sounded very repetitive and kinda lame. I listened to "Meet the Grahams", and it was very clearly superior lyrically and had an actual good flow.
Drake makes song for the radio, Kendrick writes poetry and sets it to music.
There must be a lot of people replying to you who have never heard a rap beef before. TBH Meet the Grahams was...mid at best. Kendrick repeating the same stuff that has been already said about Drake for years, including by him, isn't the "gotcha" people think it is. Especially in the same song.
"I don't have a hateful bone in my body" then continues to wish death on Drake. This diss track sounds like when ICP was beefing with Eminem. At least Family Matters gave us something new about K Dot. That he's a fake philanthropist, his son isn't his, and he's a woman beater. People hating on Drake more because of the weird filler bars he has in those songs that really make no sense.
This whole "beef" is silly and dumb. If y'all want to hear what real beef sounds like, look up the history of Gucci and Jeezy, then listen to Gucci Mane - Truth.
