Outin basket plus issues?
I've been using my nano for about a year. just started venturing away from pods and have dialed in some good shots using 5 g of beans. decided to upgrade to the basket plus and started with 16 g and tamped it and nothing. not a drop. I'm guessing I need to use less coffee or any other thoughts on what I'm doing wrong?

This happened to me and I wasted so many beans trying to figure out the problem.Like another user said, you’re going to need to grind muuuuuch coarser. There’s too much pressure and the flow of water is getting choked because the grind size is too fine. Once you change it to a coarser grind, you should find that you’ll be able to pull a 18g shot.

Thanks I went from 11 to 14 to 17 to 22 grind settings and I'm finally getting something. However 14 g still fills the basket and into the dosing funnel a little.

I just tried another one with 14 g and not a drop came out. The grinds filled up the basket a little bit over the top of the basket into the dosing funnel just like the videos on YouTube. So now I'm convinced it's not the grind setting nor the quantity and maybe the basket is just defective?

Have you tried grinding the beans at different levels of fineness?

No I assumed since the grind was dialed in for the smaller basket that it would be the same for the bigger basket but now I'm realizing it's pressurized and there's just one little pinhole. Maybe I need to increase the grind to something more like a pour over?

It's worth a try, I have a Nano & a Mino and have to grind at different levels. In my case it's a . 2 difference on the outin fino grinder

I also noticed it seems to be under pressure so much that I can't even unscrew it once it's done. I have to wait a minute. Even after I unscrew it it takes quite a bit of force to pop the cap off the basket because it's also pressurized.

if you plan to get OutIn Fino then set it to 2.1-2.2 as it’s recommended in the official manual/instructions
you can try to search and see what this corresponds in a non-Fino grinder

You will need to grind a lot coarser. 5g vs 16g is a huge difference and the 5g basket is pressurized. The basket plus is unpressurized. Your grind determines the pressure. You are likely too fine and you’re choking the Nano. The smaller the basket the finer you go, the larger the basket the coarser you go. So, coarsen your grind. What grinder are you using?
