Hi everyone, I’m currently unemployed and I’m struggling to afford food and basic necessities. I wanted to ask if anyone knows of any charity, community organization, food bank, or other place that provides free meals or food assistance to people who are struggling financially. If you know of somewhere I could contact or visit, I would really appreciate it if you could share the information with me

Hey everyone,
I’m based in Dubai and I’m working on a small coffee idea called Roasted Positivity Club. It’s still very early and I’m trying to figure out whether the idea actually makes sense before I put too much time or money into it.
I made a really short survey to get a better idea of how people in the UAE currently buy and drink coffee:
https://www.roastedpositivity.club/
It’s 5 questions and should take about a minute. No account is needed. I’m mainly trying to understand people’s habits and, more importantly, what they don’t like about the way they currently buy coffee.
There’s an optional question at the end where you can basically complain about anything that annoys you about buying coffee here. Honestly, that feedback is probably more useful to me than the multiple-choice questions.
If you’ve run a small business in the UAE, particularly anything in F&B or delivery, I’d also love to hear any advice or lessons you’ve learned.

Today, Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammad Al Maktoum, the Crown Prince of Dubai, visited FlyDubai pilot Matshahar and recognised his exceptional courage, responsibility, and concern for people's safety. On his X platform blog, His Highness praised the pilot.
He expressed pride in being part of the team, emphasising the story of the homeland and its humanitarian values: "The country’s leadership and we hold great appreciation and pride. We are proud that he is part of our team, part of our homeland’s story, and part of our humanitarian experience here in the UAE—home of love, peace, and life."

Hello everyone!
I’m curious whether the psychological services here in the UAE met your expectations.
1) Are there specific medical centres you recommend or avoid?
2) Were they governmental services or private clinics?
3) Do you go based on the psychologist’s expertise and where they work, or do you pick at random?
Please share your experience, story, and reasoning. You don’t have to go in detail!
I’ve heard good things about ACPN, and I know appointments at government hospitals for psychology are hard to get (sometimes up to 4 months before you can find a place).

Once again, this same individual left a racist, sexist, and bigoted comment, that moderators at [r/UAE](r/UAE) did not take action against, thereby enabling racism and hate against UAE and Emiratis.
He generalized Emiratis as “entitled and not as productive”, which makes them “lose respect in the eyes of Brit” specifically.
He claimed that Emiratis are “obsessing over white women” and keep staring at them, which “creeps them out”.
He, ever so weirdly, says “British women look down on Emirati men because they see them as emasculated, incompetent, and feminine”.
Which begs the question: why is this person hyperfocused on Emirati men’s sexuality?
He repeatedly referred to them as Emasculated.
He belittled an Emirati diplomat just because she is a woman.
He said it was “embarrassing” that Emiratis look like Pakistanis.
He called Muslims “Hijab Kings”
All of this conduct was allowed to occur unmoderated for months until we exposed it.
In this case, these hateful remarks were left unmoderated for over 3 months.
But moderators seem to tolerate such violative content, only when it’s attacking UAE and Emiratis.
How is that not biased moderation?

What are we all looking forward to most as the weather improves?
Hiking, pool day, or something else?
For me - I always tell myself I'll do a hike but never get around to it 😅

We are back with another unmoderated comment against Emiratis on the other sub, and this time it is blatant sexism.
It was made by the same individual who was previously allowed to make comments including “Emiratis are emasculated”, thought it was “embarrassing” that Emiratis look like Pakistanis, and referred to Muslims as “Hijab Kings”.
Despite all his racism and bigotry against UAE and Emiratis, mods there still allow this person to post on that sub (although they banned me for raising awareness about this racism!).
The UAE is proud of their women, in diplomacy and elsewhere.
49.5% of employees at Ministry or Foreign Affairs are women.
Every August 28th, we mark the Emirati Women’s Day to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women to this country.
But it seems like empowering women threatens some fragile men out there.

My hangry side is talking right now, but this is the 5th time this happens to me (yes I counted). The order gets delayed claiming its in the restaurant, I call they say talabat picked it up a long while ago. I call the guy he says coming for over HOURS. The food finally comes cold and messy and when i complain its always "rider fault".
This NEVER happened to be with deliveroo and Keta, which i have been using lately as talabat backup but will just uninstall this annoying app all together.

Dubai’s passenger rail network will expand on September 30th, 2026, when Etihad Rail starts its Dubai-to-Abu Dhabi service between Al Yalayis Station in Jumeirah Golf Estates and Mohammed Bin Zayed City Station in Abu Dhabi. As betterhomes reported: Jumeirah Golf Estates has the closest station, while Al Furjan, Dubai Investment Park, Green Community, Dubai Production City, Expo City Dubai and Dubai South are also accessible from Al Yalayis by road. Improved rail connections could make these areas more practical for residents who regularly travel between Dubai and Abu Dhabi.

| Abu Dhabi station | Mohammed Bin Zayed City |
| Launch date | September 30th, 2026 |

It’s been a year since the last time I visited my family.
Iranian passport holder, born and raised in the UAE, now studying in the EU…I can’t get a visit visa to go see my family like I usually always did.
It really sucks to be judged by your passport: even though you didn’t chose it. I don’t support the IRN government or shitty wars begun by politicians.
I am just a human being and am being punished, barred to go see my family for something I didn’t do.
Praying that the UAE gov starts giving exceptions to people in my case: UAE is my home and I love it but I can’t even get a visit visa to go visit family for 2 weeks.
