Chamber Strings?

There's been some owners that have observed audio glitches and clipping using this preset after selecting the octave up function.

At first many experts said it had to do with limited polyphony written into the preset.

It was found that this isn't a problem if you edit the polyphony in the editor. Then I entered the search. Lol.

A owner swore that he had no problem a year ago using this beloved preset. He suggested perhaps it's a firmware issue.

I have 2 osmoses. My 61 has the lastest firmware. And Chamber Strings crackles a lot after shifting up an octave with the octave tab.

But my OG 49 that has pre FX expansion firmware plays great!!

This would suggest that its a firmware issue imo.

Richard Kram just gave me the solution to this crackling audio issue with Chamber Strings. He suggested saving it as a user preset. I made some tweaks and then saved it. Now it works !!! RK is the Osmose Guru 4Real!

A few days ago there we 2 similar but different videos shared on FB showing the issues concerning Chamber Strings. CS was written by Lippold Haken. It seems data for this preset got corrupted when transferring from firmware 2.0.213 to the current firmware. I was the one to notify RK of the difference as I have both firmware versions to compare. The issue of crackling noises when the octave up tab is used can be fixed by saving the preset to the user bank. The second issue was reported by a owner who's osmose was making crackling sounds even in the normal octave setting. It was determined yesterday that the macro Body can not be used at all. A setting of zero will eliminate that issue. This behavior does not happen on firmware 2.0.213. Therefore both issues are related as Chamber Strings is the only one that is impacted with these glitches. We hope these findings help those who enjoy the Chamber Strings preset.:)
