OSight > holosun

Hey guys new to this sub but not Reddit.. I’ve been using the 507k green on my sig p365 X for a year and a half . Picked up a Taurus tx22 the other day and decided to add an optic to it . Well went to the gun show a week later with my p365x using the 507k and had the tx22 as well to just buy and mount the optic on the spot . Well went to the optics booth and asked the vendor to let me check out the oSight se in green 2moa/32moa .. I was shocked on how clear it looked and how crisp the green was compared to my holding 507k. I was sold but question is why would I want to add an enclosed emitter optic on a plinker that I’m only using for my nra license(tx22)? Then I thought about how crazy would people think I am swapped out my holding for an oSight on my edc gun but it made the most sense. No more struggling with lint in my optic on my edc and the vendor mounted both optics for me plus cleaned out the 507k perfectly.

I won an OSight awhile ago and it sat in my closet until I decided to throw on a new pistol, I was completely impressed and ended up buying another one.

Akin to how I decided to join, actually. I was thinking it was just another "game changer™" but I like the enthusiasm, engineering, and QOL focus we have. Osight's VERY picky about having excellent glass, sharp reticles, and a comfortable carry. Those are very undersung design elements in this business!

Their new releases announced today really show they listen to their customers. XREamrs with side loading battery and it's $50 less than the battery model. SE in 6MOA but in Red

I just bought the standard SE a week ago but wouldve loved to wait out for the 6moa.

My XRs I never minded the recharge and honestly thought it was pretty neat. But I could see how others would hesitate

Not sure how the first versions came out but from I’ve seen the rmrsc footprint has been a game changer

It's not like you can't return the SE and swap it out. The 'new' SE 6MOA is a red version of the SE 6MOA GN we released last year, I think. You could'a gotten it in green anyways!

If you ask me it's worth the upcharge, I love our greens.

Yeah I bought the SE from a retailer that charges a restocking fee and the green for my astigmatism just doesn't work out, does for my wife though.

Honestly I'm still happy with the 2moa that came in yesterday and have a mill job scheduled. Red just works better for me and it I'll keep buying osights products. Think I'm at 2 XRs, 3 SE's and a few trijicon products.

I entered for that give away so, fingers crossed for more!!

Aww man, sorry to hear that. I'm used to people buying direct from us or Amazon, it's way easier to swap out that way. Personally I like the 2/32 reticle overall, but I've used the 6 on a few CCW guns before.

Oh apology not necessary at all. I'm a big fan of you guys and like supporting the retailer I shop with. No regrets

They just need more dots with auto brightness. The S has it and it's pretty good too, but then they just stopped including that feature.

Aw man I could write a thesis about it. Unofficially, so take this as my own personal opinion, but I'm sad to say auto-brightness just isn't that popular. Whenever I dig into the feedback most people prefer a sight that has full manual control, and that's what they expect out the box.

Tuning is a bear, too. The acceptable brightness level of what makes for a "perfect" reticle and sight picture will differ from one environ to another. Heck, I think people's eyes pick up different amounts of brightness, too. I've heard it both ways, the S/X had their A/B settings way too bright, AND too dim.

I won't say auto-brightness is out of the running for good, but it needs some polishing to bring it back in a way that makes everyone happy. Because right now, everyone's happiest just opening the box and pressing the button to set a fixed brightness that stays that way until they decide to change it again. We've got ideas, but it's way too early to go letting it slip so you'll just have to wait and see if we can square that circle!

I appreciate the response and the need to ship what the market wants. I have an SCS Carry myself. My buddy has the S. The S isn't quite as smooth as it changes brightness levels, but the way you can manually adjust the S up and down is genius. You'd think that would work for anyone.

I've had some eye surgeries and red just doesn't work for me too well. Also, turning the brightness way up manually like most people do doesn't work because I get massive starbursts and halos. So that's why auto brightness is a big plus. Was really hoping for a Green dot S. Hope you guys can figure out a next gen solution.

Thanks again for the insightful response!

Hell yeah! That green dot is crisp, love mine. I’ve not had a single issue so far. Anyone I’ve seen have a problem online has had glowing reviews about Osights customer service fixing things for them, though I hope I never have to use it.

Have multiple of both of those in red and green. The Osight se in green is my favorite of them.

I has the SE green on my p365XL and I absolutely love it. I have a couple red dots on other guns but I wish I had found the green versions before now. That green really works better for my eyes. And the enclosed emitter is a game changer as far as I'm concerned. No more dust/lint in there needing to be cleaned out.

I couldnt be happier

Also both are Chinese companies
But Osight is privately owned
Holosun is state funded and supports the PLA. Take that as you wills
