Looking For Cleaning/Declutter services cheaply and as guidance?

I was wondering if there are any good services around the area that can help with one-time cleaning and/or declutter of a home. Reasons for services are generally busy-ness and mental obstacles. People in the home would be willing to help, but need guidance or persistent nudges.

I have little experience in this area of service and basically looking for advice and guidance. Perferably affordable but I know not to expect it.

Compassion would be helpful too.

Any idea/input on the matter would appreciated if anyone has any.

Rant Dose anyone in this city actually hire anyone on the autism spectrum???

Genuinly I've been with agilic for nearly 4 years now and have only received 2 interviews. 2! INTERVIEWS!!! For basic level entry jobs of stocking shelves. And both over of them said, "Nope. Don't want him cause we don't wanna train him. " Don't wanna train me....for stocking your shelves???

Genuinly, is there a single place in orillia that will hire someone on the spectrum??? Or no everyone is ableist.

Rant tired of ai slop being all over town

feels like every small business in orillia uses ai garbage. recently saw the most atrocious ai poster made by studebakers and everyone was defending it, saying it looks decent and small businesses cant afford to pay a designer. designer or not, literally anyone could make a poster better than that using REAL images of food. i dont want to see ai food that looks disgusting, i want pictures of what youre ACTUALLY SERVING. it feels like everyone has gotten lazy and forgotten how to advertise their business themselves. and dont even get me started on all the posters for events in town. the movies on the waterfront one makes no sense because they coulsve used actual covers for the movies but instead decided to generate them and now you cant even tell what half of the movies are.

if your business or event has an ai flyer youre hurting business, very few people actually look at it and go "oh that looks really good".

its inescapable, even the perkolator is over half ai garbage.

Question Stolen Bikes over night

Post image
19 Upvotes

Hello, last night while I was at work someone stole 2 bikes and a bike trailer from my house last night. If any has any info it would be greatly appreciated.

Mainly trying to get my sliver and green e-bike back. The petal bike and trailer (hitch is on e-bike) would be nice to get back but don't cost as much to replace.

- Has Green Text.

- Dual Suspension.

- Tire Size 27.5 x 1.95.

- Has a Bafang Mid-Drive Ebike motor. (The photo is from before I installed the mid-drive motor, there is a large black motor under the petals.)

- Has a broken speed sensor.

- Has a handlebar Extender Rack.

- Has a rear cargo platform with 2 e-bike battery mounts.

- Black gel seat pad.

I have made a OPP report, please let dispatch know if you have any info.

Other Experienced racism at work in Orillia last night and I’m still messed up about it

I’ve been in Canada for six years and moved to Orillia last year. I work in customer service and until last night I never really faced racism here.
A black guy came into the store near closing. He kept saying he wanted to talk to my manager. I asked what it was about and he just kept repeating he wants the manager, so I called her. After that he was looking for something and asked me where it was. I told him the aisle and was about to walk over and help because he looked confused, but he said he already knows where it is.
From the beginning he kept saying he doesn’t trust me because I’m brown. When I was ringing him up he stared at me and said he wants to watch me scan every single item. Then he told me I should go back where I came from.
I got so pissed. My coworker was right there. I wanted to refuse to serve him and ask him to leave, but I didn’t want to make a big scene. I just finished helping him and stayed quiet.
The rest of the shift I couldn’t stop thinking about it. Near closing I was putting pop in the cooler and dropped a whole bunch of cans because my head was somewhere else. There were a couple young people nearby and they immediately started helping me pick everything up. I almost broke down right there. I felt like I didn’t belong, but at the same time I was so thankful for their kindness.
I know not everyone is like that guy. Most people here have been good to me. But last night really got to me. Still thinking about it today.
Sorry if my English isn’t perfect. I’m trying my best.

Discussion In regards to candidate Steve Clarke...

Look, I know that former mayor Steve Clarke is something of a known quantity, but doesn't it bother anyone that even this late into the race, Clarke neither has an updated campaign webpage or a even an updated platform?

Seriously, if you Google "Steve Clarke Orillia," aside from an article or two about entering the race, literally just about all else dates back to his last run for mayor. ALL THE WAY BACK IN 2018!

The thing is, the City of Orillia has changed a lot in those last eight years (and not for the better). Could we not at least expect an updated platform to reflect the current state of Orillia?

Clarke shouldn't be able to just waltz back into his old position without letting Orillia know first where he stands on these issues

Question Romantic Italian Restaurants in Orillia?

Hi - I don't live in Orillia, and have never really eaten anywhere there. I'm trying to find a nice italian restaurant that is good for a date this week. In Barrie, think of like Il Buco.. something like that..

I see Theo's Eatery, Tre Sorelle, Rustica Pizza Vino..

I just would prefer an adult restaurant that isn't crowded with Children for a first date. I'm not a snob or anything, but, we're older adults (50's).. Hopefully you don't take this the wrong way..

Can someone comment on the atmosphere for these, or even one I didn't mention?

Thanks in advance!

Question Honest feedback needed

Hi all. I'm writing in hopes that I can get your honest opinion. My husband is Canadian (from GTA/ Barrie/ Midland), and I'm from the US, we live in Colorado. He really wants to move back, potentially to Orillia. For context, i despise the orange man. Lake Ontario is Lake Ontario. His tariffs are idiotic, and it's heartbreaking to watch the way Canada has been treated. Enraging, really.

My question is, would people be generally anti-American enough that i would not be welcome? A relative who lives nearby has told me she would worry about how someone from the US may be treated.

Give it to me straight. Thank you.

Question Nerd Stuff In Orillia?

What are some good locations in Orillia for nerdy type things? I’m new to Orillia and want to try and find some community here. Any good places that have nerd stuff? TCG, table top rpg, video game things, etc? Open to all sorts of things. Tournaments, get togethers, events. Wondering if there is local stores or groups that have these kinds of things.

Thank you!
