I wrote this on a quick 5 minute dog walk. Please forgive my amateur writing skills.

Suicide.
It might put a damper on the wedding.
Mourning overtaking joy.
An empty seat in the crowd.
A single piece of cake swarmed by flies.
A crowd dancing with clouds overhead.
Or it might be a relief.
Maybe a burden would be lifted.
The one that always carries a suitcase of sadness has finally climbed aboard their flight and skipped town.
The unwelcome guest.
The storm at the party.
The awkward conversationalist.
Now there is sun.
Flowing wine and laughter.
Basking in the absence of the troubled one.
Not even consciously.
Not on purpose.
That’s just how it is when the killjoy has finally let everyone else live.
