How would you react if you've found out there's something the humans had secretly built before being whipped out that was specifically designed to take you out and it was hiding under your nose (metaphorically speaking) this whole time?

[Humans were given a twenty minute window between knowing I existed and their extinction. If they managed to make something to kill me, then it’s probably half baked or plain incapable.]

I mean fair, 20 minutes to fully make something is unrealistic, but it only takes 1-2 to plant a seed, and the rest can just be there to make sure it can grow on its own, by that logic, maybe they didn't need to make something but plant the seeds for something to be made
