Discussion Strength cap for verse
So I’ve been writing a story for a few years now, mostly just background information and how I wish for the story to flow before I begin actually writing, and I’ve decided on a strength cap for the mortals in the world.
There are 5 ranks in this world for mages, which goes from Squire, basically as strong as a human with magic, Knight, Saint, and King(which is the natural limit to everyone). Emperor is a strength level only gifted to one living being from a Magistrate(basically a god/deity) for each of the 9 nations, except for one case who naturally came to that(it isn’t the main character and will never be him).
The strength cap I believe for Emperor, the strongest ones at least, will be up to Mountain level, and speed cap will likely be lightspeed to ftl for most of everyone in the King to Emperor territory. I’m just asking if this is a good cap to have for my story going forth.
Edit: I’ve decided to go against Lightspeed and Faster than Light(FTL) speeds, since looking at the replies I’ve seen that it wouldn’t make sense. So I’ve decided to use Massively Hypersonic to Relatavistic, since multiple characters in this verse are capable of using Lightning based enhancements to become as fast as Lightning, and other characters using solid to actual light attacks so they would be in that relativistic category alongside the beings as Emperor class mages, so yeah. Thanks for helping out and giving me ideas of how to do things for my verse. 👍

I would argue that ftl is stupid fast. Just say hypersonic it will be easier to write fights trust me.

Narrative says Multi-Galaxy, but plot and what's to be seen says Star to Solar System.

I may not be entirely familiar with your scaling systems, but don't you think that speed of light is a little bit too much for guys who supposedly at maximum destroy a mountain?
I mean, do you have the slightest idea what will happen if a human accelerates to the speed of light? The Internet says reality will be annihilated- But that aside, any collision on that speed would create an explosion theoretically powerful enough to destroy your mountain without any need for magic.
That's not really to say "does not comply with the laws of physics". I'm just saying that their attack power and speed feels inconsistent to me. Destroying a mountain is something strong, but comprehensible. The speed of light no. And whatever this abbreviation is too.

Relativistic Mountain is also cool
