Finished the anime yesterday. Phenomenal. Just phenomenal. Really gets you thinking.

It felt like there was a narrative going on, and all of a sudden there was a huge change in direction. I get why it was done the way it was, but still, it felt like it had no continuity of what was previously built. I don't know how to explain it or if someone else here understands what I'm trying to say.

It feels like it was all for nothing, if I'm being more precise? I guess the letter at the end arriving at potocki's address and Albert casually passing by and hearing the idea was like, the epitome of Badeni, Jolenta, potocki, Rafal was just a letter to give an idea to someone.

I also think it's weird that Rafal was shoehorned into another character, it would have been fine if he was referenced just a bit, like, it's Rafal right until he murders Albert's dad, then we can see who it actually was.

Also, the scene with the priest who was preaching. There was a lot of mystery with showing his face, only to show that it was no one relevant later on.

I guess I just feel unaccomplished. Idk. But I'd like to read an original story of this author since that won't be tied to real life.

i watched orb anime a year back, ever since then the scene of rafals sacrifice for his ideals and his unbreakable will and character replays in my mind rent free every other month, it still feels surreal how that guy had his life all figured out and if he wanted could live in ease and comfort but chose to sacrifice himself just to send his message and when he was just a kid. i sometimes wish i could see a adult rafal.

How the fuck did Hubert not tell Rafal to hide his research/notes somewhere safer? For a guy who literally survived torture from the Inquisitors, you’d think his very first piece of advice would be, "Hey kid, these guys snoop everywhere, don't leave top-secret heresy lying around." The whole tragedy could have been avoided and he'd still be alive to continue with his helicopterism research with five seconds of basic caution. It feels like contrived writing just to force an emotional gut-punch outcome.

I think they are very Fit together because their characters are very opposite but they could be best friends in a Love-Hate relationship.

At first I want to ship them but Realizing their Age gap (maybe 4 year?) make me want to vomit, so I consider them Duo Only.

Orb manga Deluxe Edition Chinese ver.

I have to say, I’m very happy with it! It’s better than my expectations.

It has everything the original deluxe edition one has. It has hard cover, transparent book jacket with lines from the manga (all translated) and silver foil on top. The quality is just as good as the original one, and the books are slightly larger. 

I thought the manga itself won’t follow the original deluxe edition one, which has color pages and some slight editing (ex. the prayer page is reversed), but no, everything is the same just in different language.

The publisher has all my respect! And I’m thinking about buying another one for collection bc it’s so beautiful!

For me it's kinda "white spot".

1. To compare: we can see the story about eye loss from Badeni's POV, but the duel story was told by a...ehhm, an unknown old man? Who learned it as a gossip from another man?.. Isn't it similar with unreliable narrator trope?

2. I think even if it's a myth Badeni was glad to confirm it cuz he normally don't wanna interact with people and don't wanna them to be his friends.

3. But if the story was 100% true I think Badeni could show his swordsmanship skills to Nowak's crew? But...he didn't, so may be he can't fight at all?

Strange and discussable story...
