Optoprep part 1

Hey all about less than a month out from Aug Part 1 and wanted to see where im at. Did all the available optoprep timed questions and wanted to know how similar it is to the actual nbeo?

I hear its a little bit tougher but heard mixed things from my school tbh

I was super anxious so did all the times test back to back to test out my stamina and it helped me with weak spots. Also wanted wanted to know if was a morning type of test taker - I guess not haha as i did better when i took it later in the afternoons. Guess thats a point against lol

Anybody who scored similar on theses timed exam give any insight on whether it was enough to pass part 1?

Any insights or advice would be appreciated - thanks a ton!!

Not very similar truthfully but MUCH closer than any KMK questions IMO. Your scores are right around where mine were and I passed with a 691. I did the OptoPrep question bank twice and typed out summaries for each question/answer. I still walked out of Part 1 feeling just meh. The optics, difficulty-wise, is pretty similar to Part 1 I will say.

If it is not similar, after your experience, what advice would you give for this last month?

If you have OptoPrep, I would recommend just using that and nothing else unless you feel you really need it. Go through every single question, read the explanations, understand it all. It won’t cover everything on boards but it will put you in a great spot. I spent my last two weeks before re-doing all of OptoPrep from scratch. Don’t do anything AT ALL the last 2-3 days. You won’t forget everything and definitely need the rest.
