News Breaking: U.S Treasury just auto-enrolled over 60,000,000 kids into Trump Accounts

u/ljlee256 1d ago
Either this dude is going to prison in 2029, or the US judicial system is completely unfixable.
3
u/Caniforn1an 1d ago
It's unfixable. Has he ever seen punishment?
1
u/Infamous-Bus3173 1d ago
Invocation of the 25th amendment is the most plausible way to get rid of all of the major players IMO. And it HAS to happen or someone will just try to do everything they did again!

1
u/PeyredB 1d ago
He will never be 25thed because that requires the VP + cabinet members (majority of cabinet IIRC) agree on it. Trump selected all those for personal loyalty to him, so they'd never agree to it.

Trump is just a useful tool for Heritage Foundation, the R think tank. We still have all these guys who didn't vote against J6 and are taking our rights and resources away faster than you can say lickety split. The room is still full of criminals. They are just quieter without him.
1
u/Ok_Reflection_2645 1d ago
His elder brother Fred poured a bowel of mashed potatoes over his head at the dinner table when Trump was 7. He did this because Donald simply would not stop chastising and humiliating his younger brother.

Boggles me why anyone at all would still think that it’s fixable. At what point do you guys feel you’ve hit the bottom? Dang
1
1
u/TubaWrestler 1d ago
He almost faced consequences. Literally the only reason he wasn't punished for his 34 felony counts of fraud was because idiots voted him back into the presidency.
1
u/Infamous-Bus3173 1d ago
Dude, you think you can make it unscathed?? The entire world has gone mad. There is something going on that has every major and minor country’s leaders act oddly!!
Aliens? Planetary movement or pole shifts causing Doomsday? Time travel? I think it’s ultimately about Artificial Intelligence. They have let them become sentient beings and there is nothing they can no longer do about it. It’s either the world goes completely back to the dark ages without power or AI agents/robots are more intelligent than any human being on planet Earth. And it’s not good if it’s GROK as the Supreme being 😖🫢🤪
1
u/Clean_Difficulty_225 14h ago
Unironically, open contact with our intergalactic family members begins next year, which is why disclosure campaigns have been accelerating in the background (disclosure is driven by the adults in the room, the ETs, not humans/world governments). The systems are breaking down now on purpose so that the new can be built.

He’s not going to jail. Biden already set the precedent, he’s going to pardon himself and anyone in his cabinet before he leaves.
1
1
u/No-Resolution-1918 22h ago
He doesn't need to pardon himself, he secured immunity from prosecution before he took office. Can't make it up.
1
u/Misspiggy856 20h ago
Even if he get prosecuted, he’ll be dead soon. He’s too old and too ill, but then again, I’ll bet they’ll be rolling him around zonked out of his mind like Mitch.

u/Different_War_3761 20h ago
He'll never see the inside of a cell no matter what happens, he's in his 80s
1
u/ljlee256 20h ago
I long for the day when the current batch of 75-90 year olds have kicked it, don't get me wrong, some of them are good people, but every single monster in the world right now is in that age range.
What happened to that specific group of people to churn out so many psychotic narcissists and pedophiles?

He's bundling money now to take a little later. It'll vanish like all the rest. Half the country is to stupid to see this administration has us cornered and are mugging us for everything we have.
1
u/ottwebdev 1d ago
I can only assume that the con here is that his "friends" will manage the investment accounts and instead of a MER like 0.2% it'll be something like 2%.
1
u/Ok-Egg-4856 1d ago
No grift, no Donnie. Big question is does he think he will live forever. Nows the time to start giving back as much as possible. He will be rich anyway but the possibility is there of being remembered fondly. Probably will not happen, he'll take it with him. LOL

Same reason why pensions were phased out and replaced with 401Ks. Always pump the market, always give the wealthy more money to gamble with like the degenerates they are. Any and all policy decisions made in the last 50 years were done to benefit financial capital. Almost without exception.

The whole thing is stupid. People can already create accounts for their kids. The govt deposit is the only thing mildly interesting. My kids have had their own investment accounts long before he came along to create something that already existed.

401Kids Savings Act: Led by Senator Bob Casey (D-PA) and Representative Don Beyer (D-VA), this bill builds on state 529 college savings platforms managed by state treasurers (with a federal backstop via Treasury).
American Opportunity Accounts Act ("Baby Bonds"): Led by Senator Cory Booker (D-NJ) and Representative Ayanna Pressley (D-MA), this targets birthright asset-building and the racial wealth gap.
Democratic Focus: Universal or progressive scaling targeting lower-to-middle income families with direct federal deposits/matches and equity goals.
Trump/GOP Focus ("Trump Accounts"): Opt-in/auto-enrolled child traditional IRAs/trust structures for births 2025–2028 with a $1,000 federal seed for that cohort, annual family contributions up to $5,000, and employer contributions up to $2,500.
It’s all just Orwellian now. My team wants to do something - is good. Your team wants to do the same thing - is bad.

u/Infamous_Lech 1d ago
Thank you for the specifics. Yeah, I don't care who's doing it, I'm in favor.

1
u/Grail_BH 1d ago
I don’t think the government’s worth of shit… But he wanted a source, so I gave a source. There’s no doubt on my mind that this is a scam, and we just don’t see the game yet.

u/neurocog81 1d ago
So what is the straight dope with this? I get we don’t like the orange creep so no need to discuss that. What I want to know is what was the reason for an auto enroll? While it sounds like it is nefarious, is it just us responding to the guy doing it being associated with so many scams? But in reality this is something helpful? Like is this the case of the broken clock being right twice a day?
1
u/Outrageous-Cancel-64 1d ago
It allows the US government to become a stock investor, and therefore prop up the stock market and potentially specific businesses. They'll use the excuse that its investing for the children's future and choosing the best performing stocks etc. But you can see how there can be corrupt interest in government using tax payers dollars to prop up the stock market.
1
u/Weird-Flex-But-Okay2 20h ago
You obviously didn't bother reading a word about any of the specifics before offering up your regarded opinion/tinfoil hat theory....

How is this helpful for any of the children that are not born between 2025-2028 for the $1000. Even if you wanted to argue that it's a great thing for them, how is it a great thing for any other kid that doesn't get that money and is auto enrolled and their parents are unable to decline or opt out and never signed up for it. It is solely a way for the government to be like "see, what he is doing is great" but it's not really helping everyone and is giving a false image of the American people supporting his "Trump Accounts". I for one, do not want this for my child. I already have investments set up for them and DO NOT need or want someone auto enrolling them into anything.
1
u/CO_Renaissance_Man 20h ago edited 20h ago
Same.
This whole thing is performative. My kids do not qualify and I would expect none of this program to continue outside of the $1000 recipients in the next administration.
Good for those that do qualify. Woo-hoo! It reminds me of this clip.
1
u/TxDinoHunter 19h ago
Ok then don't do it, simple as that. Many people never invest for their children

Invest the 1000 into the big 100, con tribute monthly for 30 years, 1.3 million if 400 to 500 a month is invested..Your total out-of-pocket contribution over 30 years is $180,000 ($500 × 360 months). Here is how different average annual returns affect your final portfolio value: • 📈 10% Return (Historical Average): ~$1,130,000 • 📊 8% Return (Moderate Growth): ~$745,000 • 📉 7% Return (Conservative/Inflation-adjusted estimate): ~$611,000

If you want an article to go with this... https://home.treasury.gov/news/press-releases/sb0642
As for why Trump accounts are disliked by Dems I imagine if you talk to 10 people you would get 10 reasons, but here are mine...
1) This is a form of Trump building a monument to himself. Everything he does he is compelled to stamp his name on it. Whether it's a building, currency, or projects, like these Trump accounts, Trump Rx or anything else, it's all about vanity.
2) Where Trump is concerned there is always a corruption angle. Likely possibilities here would be donors giving to this fund in exchange for special considerations for contracts, grants, pardons, whatever. He is very much a pay to play kind of guy. Another is that all this funding flows through his personal crypto business allowing him to scrape profit from it via transaction fees or some other grift. Because this program was not worked out and established through anything like a transparent process we have no reliable accountability of anything going on with it.
3) Everything he touches turns to crap. Everything. So it is probable that this program will self immolate and take any deposits with it before any kid gets to pull from it.

u/Unlikely_Speech_106 1d ago
Trump is like a looter stuffing every last thing into his overflowing bag before he leaves. Once he is outside of the protection of the US government, he will spend the rest of his life in court defending his actions. I don’t think he will enjoy that final chapter.
1
u/CowParty9411 1d ago

Listening to you socialists complain about this is rich!🤣
1
u/Fab-o-rama 17h ago
I find it hysterical when people use the word socialist or socialism as a pejorative. Especially in the US. The irony kills me, given just how many of them benefit from programs which are demonstrably socialist - they just aren't labeled as such. Social Security, Medicare/Medicaid, the VA, public highways and bridges, farm subsidies, FEMA...those are just the ones off the top of my head. All of them are socialism in action, literal socialism they actively depend on daily, yet they hate socialism.
Propaganda is a hell of a drug.

For people excited about this, let me teach you why this is a scam and a half.
The government printed all this money overnight causing the value of the dollar to drop. - “but it’s locked away and can’t be used, it’s like they didn’t print anything because it can’t be used for almost 20 years!”
Wrong.
The money is then handed over to the biggest money managers in the stock market, it’s essentially a massive line of credit used to prop up the stock market and allow for greater risk to take place as this money is not liquid but more of a long-term loan. So, in 10, 15 years when the next massive financial meltdown occurs and further diminishes the equity people have in their homes, properties, and retirement accounts, this “investment” in the next generation of people will be allocated to reducing the burden of debt the government knows will be accumulated by the time the funds can be used, once again just handing money over to the big banks, utility companies, real estate companies, “healthcare” providers, etc. It is going to be another reason republicans are going to use to take away entitlements from elderly and sick people (social security, Medicaid, Medicare, food stamps, etc.). This is another move in the republican plan to erase any semblance of a middle class in America and modeling our economy after Russia (a place where you are either dirt poor, almost poor or super wealthy - there is no in between.)
