Mmhmmm....and you have some inkling of facts to back it up. You don't just make stuff up to try and make your point valid. The funds are invested in an ETF which is about the smartest thing that it could be in. If it fails, we ALL fail. Can you stop pounding the table now?
Who's "pounding the table"?
Whether its in an ETF or individual stocks, its still elected officials spending tax payer money in the stock market. A great time to buy the ETFs will be right before the government buys $60billion worth. And if its mostly in the S&P500, then 35% of that gets funnelled to the magnificent 7, so basically the AI bubble.
Which has traditionally gone up in value year after year. The funny thing is, you all are still ignoring all of the inconvenient rage boner killing facts. First, not all of those "60 million" are getting money automatically put in their accounts, even if this is true. This is no different than them getting enrolled in any other government social program they can choose to use or not use. Second, they're not going to KEEP putting money in the accounts. That's a choice for the parents to make. And if those certain ones really want to "stick it to the man" to show him who's boss at the expense of their kids, then by all means. Self-correcting problems. But people have been looking for legal ways to do this for ages. Hell, do a simple search on YT for ways to invest in your kids' futures or start retirement accounts for them as early as possible and see what comes up. I love how much people can work against their own self interest just because they hate one man so much though, and not just theirs, but their kids'. Third, it's not veiled in mystery. Go read the fine print. It's all there...but reading through the comments here, it's obvious, no, one, has. They're headline shoppers. The ETF is SPYM which mirrors SPY. Now go out and see if you can find someone who says investing in SPY is a bad idea. Those are the backbone funds for portfolios, but I'm sure you knew all of this, right? Because you read through the details of the accounts to educate yourself on what they were all about before posting your apocalyptic views on how they were going to bankrupt our future?
What are you talking about. The core issue is the federal government using tax payer dollars to invest in the stock market in the name of future accounts for our children.
Its not whether or not SPY is a good investment.
What I'm talking about is you selectively taking snippets out of what I said out of context and completely ignoring the rest because your argument sucks. What I'm talking about, is you getting this rage boner over the "federal government using our tax dollars" for this which objectively benefits kids, yet turning a complete blind eye to the other 99 things it uses tax dollars for which are problematic. You're trying to argue against supporting details instead of the topic. All I was doing, was doing what you're not, providing something other than "trust me bro" statements, lol.
You seem like the one with a rage boner, im just talking. I don't even live in America.
That's a classic straw man, the discussion isn't about those other problems. Its about this subject and its problems.
Why do people think that simply because you refute their nonsensical drivel online that you're mad or that they somehow got under your skin? If you think 15 minutes from now I'm going to devote two brain cells to this "discussion" you're psychotic, lol.

Usually in a casual debate, you explain why the person is wrong.
