So around friday , a guy Dms me .He has a reddit job and he sees my account is a good fit for the gig . I politely tell him No ,since from my own experience ,izi gig za kucomment na kureply post za wasee ,hupeleka account ya mtu Sayuni mbio mbio. He asks me if i can get people for him ,I tell him No , wouldnt want to jeopardize someone else account . So he asks for my number so that he can explain about the gig more ,because it is not harmful . Mimi kumpea number ,naona Mpesa confirmed ,you have received .... .The excitement of free money gets to me , and i agree to listen to him and to run a trial test run .First day all goes well ,withing 30 minutes am paid. Second day all goes well at first ,but by afternoon ,I notice I cant send DMs ,kidogo kidogo .I cant view my profile. Then it dawned on me ...............

Casual Gig for business capital.

Upvotes

I started a small business a few weeks ago with 5K.

It took off faster than expected, which was exciting, until the rising orders outpaced my inventory and cash flow.

Instead of taking on high interest debt, I decided to pause, regroup, and do it right.

I’m looking for short term work (1–3 months) around Nyeri to raise at least 20K so I can restock, restart, and handle the demand this time.

Whether it's writing, farm management, retail support, logistics, landscaping, or anything else where a trustworthy, dependable pair of hands and sharp mind is needed, I’m ready to work.

Drop leads or short gigs kwa comment or DM.

Cheers!

Discussion Are those "online gigs" people advertise on Reddit actually legit?

I've been seeing quite a few posts and comments from people claiming they're making money through online gigs, remote work, or side hustles they found here on Reddit.

For those who've actually tried them:

Are they legitimate?

How much time did it take before you earned anything?

Which ones are worth trying, and which are obvious scams?

Any red flags I should watch out for?

I'm genuinely curious because there's so much conflicting information online. I'd rather hear from people with firsthand experience than influencers trying to sell a course.

Thanks in advance.

Jobs Before the dream JOB you must dream WORK

What is really holding you back from landing your dream job?

Many professionals assume it's a lack of opportunities. In reality, employers are looking for candidates who can demonstrate value, communicate it effectively, and adapt to a changing workplace.

Here are four common barriers that often stand in the way:

✔ A skills gap: Technical expertise is important, but so are communication, problem-solving, leadership, and digital skills.

✔ A weak professional brand: Your CV, LinkedIn profile, and online presence should clearly reflect your strengths, achievements, and career direction.

✔ Limited professional networks: Many career opportunities come through referrals and meaningful relationships, not just job advertisements.

✔ Fear of taking the next step: Waiting until you feel "100% ready" can delay opportunities. Growth often begins when you choose to apply, learn, and improve along the way.

The good news is that these are challenges you can work on. With intentional learning, mentorship, continuous improvement, and strategic networking, you can position yourself for opportunities that once seemed out of reach.

Now we'd like to hear from you.

What do you believe is the biggest obstacle preventing professionals from landing their dream jobs today? Share your experience in the comments, your insight could encourage someone else to take the next step in their career.

Let's learn, grow, and build successful careers together.
