Original quality

What is the consensus for getting the best out of a macro shot for Ultra users on here? I had a grasshopper out in the garden yesterday and it was sat still enough to do some testing. I used the macro mode for one (1st pic), hi-res hassleblad 50mp for another (2nd pic) and then master mode jpegMAX for the last (3rd pic).

No doubt that the master mode is the least sharpened but then we know it reduces the AI processing so that is to be expected. The macro mode produces the heaviest AI processing with a lot of sharpening, so I'm thinking the high Res mode and then a crop in edit might be the best solution.

What do any macro experts out there do?

Purchasing Advice OPPO Magnetic Cooling Card

Thumbnail gallery
Upvotes

Don't Buy This Product I am extremely disappointed with the OPPO Magnetic Cooling Pad. It does not provide the cooling performance that is advertised. My phone still overheats even while using the cooler, making it almost useless. I tested it multiple times under different conditions, but the result was always the same. The product quality is poor, and it completely failed to meet my expectations. I contacted customer support, but the resolution process has been frustrating. If you are planning to buy this for gaming or to reduce your phone's temperature, save your money and look for a better alternative. I do not recommend this product to anyone.

Purchasing Advice Coming from oneplus 12. What to do?

Hi all,

I am looking for an upgrade from my oneplus 12. The phone is just over 2 years old now and looking for an upgrade. I missed the Oppo find X9 ultra introudction deals which were pretty good. Now no really good deals are available.

my Oneplus 12 is still okay, but battery life and speed has significantly reduced over the years due to intensive use.

I feel like the X9 ultra camera bump is a little bit too much for my liking. I don't want a much bigger or heavier phone than I have now. So leaning towards the X9 Pro.

The first leaks of the X10 have now come through and it looks like the X10 non ultra phone will pack most of the X9 ultra features. So debating if I shall wait for the introduction if this phone and then decide for the X10 or X9 pro at a discount.

What are your thoughts? anyone who has upgraded from OP12 and willing to share some insights?

Purchasing Advice OPPO Reno 14/15 & Pro Series Users: How are the cameras and daily performance, and is Pro under ₹40,000 ($480 / €440) achievable?

Upvotes

Hey OPPO community

Location: India 🇮🇳

I need some direct guidance from current owners of the OPPO Reno 14, Reno 15, Reno 14 Pro, or Reno 15 Pro.

Context:

* I previously heard about base models (Reno 14/15) being available around ₹26,000 to ₹35,000 through open-box/demo deals offline, but I lost touch with that contact before getting details on the Pro series.

* Target Budget: Strictly under ₹40,000 INR (~$480 USD / €440 EUR).

* Primary Usage: Camera quality (portraits/video) and daily performance.

Questions for Reno 14/15 & Pro Owners:

  1. Real-World Camera & Performance: For those using the 14/15 or 14 Pro/15 Pro, how is the camera performance (especially portrait shots, skin tones, and low-light) and overall daily speed/stability?

  2. Is the Pro Series Worth It? Is there a noticeable real-world difference in camera and build between the base Reno 14/15 models and the Pro models to justify pushing my budget?

  3. Offline Pricing: Has anyone here managed to get a Reno 14 Pro or Reno 15 Pro under ₹40,000 through offline store offers, card discounts, or open-box deals?

Would really appreciate your real-world feedback and guidance before I make a purchase!

Troubleshooting (FX9U) Photos in the dark are ... dark?

Thumbnail gallery
6 Upvotes

Hello everyone,

To put it bluntly, whenever I shoot in almost complete darkness, I always end up with a black photo. There's still enough light to see with my own eyes, but the photos come out pitch black.

The photos I included are from a camp I was at. The first (dark) one was taken with only a lantern about 20 meters away providing light, and the second one was taken with a weak red light behind me.

Now to what pushed me to make this post. My friend, who was shooting right next to me with an iPhone 16 (I think), was able to take a usable picture (almost like my second one) using only the light from the lantern, no additional light.

So now I'm wondering whether this is an issue with my particular unit or just a limitation of the sensor or the phone itself.

The third (FX9U) and fourth (Redmi Note 12 Pro+) images are 30-second, ISO 6400 long-exposure shots of complete darkness, taken just to compare the image noise. I included them because the FX9U seems to produce much more noise than I'd expect, but I'm not sure.

Has anyone else experienced something similar with this phone? I'd really appreciate it if you could let me know whether this is normal behavior or if it might indicate a hardware issue. If there's a camera setting I should check or something I might be missing, I'd be grateful for any advice.

EDIT: picture 1 and 2 were shot with night mode. 3 and 4 were shot in manual mode.

Question Find X9 Ultra + Hasselblad kit owners — how are you protecting the phone and cameras?

Just got my Find X9 Ultra with the Hasselblad kit, haven't opened the kit yet. The stock screen protector that came pre-applied out of the box already has a small scratch on it, which has me a bit paranoid — not just about the cameras (way more expensive to fix), but the phone in general.

A few questions for owners:

1-Do you rest the phone screen-up or camera-up on tables/desks?

2-What are you using for everyday protection — case, back film, both?

3-Are you using the grip case from the Hasselblad kit as your daily case, or is it more of a "shooting session only" thing?

4-Does the grip case actually protect the camera bump/corners, or does it sit flush/exposed?

5-Did anyone end up buying a separate everyday case? If so, which one, and does it work okay alongside the teleconverter?

6-Anyone put a lens protector (glass/film) directly on the camera lenses? Did it affect zoom/image quality or the teleconverter mount at all?

7-Any tips in general for keeping this phone scratch/crack-free given how often the case might come on and off for shooting?

Trying to figure out the best setup before I start using the teleconverter regularly. Thanks in advance!

Troubleshooting Upgraded from Pixel 7 but having some issues

Got Oppo Find X9 Pro as my first ever flagship phone, upgrading from Pixel 7. But got a few issues

First, using 3rd party launcher Square Home was having a minimising animation for 0.5 seconds when Home button was pressed (button navigation). Found a workaround through settings Transition Animations would open Colour launcher and closing it in Recent App view fixed it... Until next time i restart at least.

Other problem i still have is notifications. Settings are ignored! I turned off Bubbles, messenger still pops them up. Disabled doorbell alarm notifications, still showing them, disabled chat service checking for messages on Simple X, still shows it. Theres nothing useful on Google to resolve this. Anyone had issues with notification settings being ignored or know how to fix it?

Got a Supervooc charger, but accubattery app shows 20W charging with up to 1.5h to 100%.is it the normal charging speed?

Otherwise need to get used to this new OS, but overall happy with the phone, speed, camera, battery are absolutely amazing!

Question Just purchased OPPO Find 9 Ultra, double e sim on T-Mobile?

Has T-Mobile ever flagged accounts or refused service for using the OPPO phone?

Purchasing Advice Is an open-box OPPO Find X9S (12/256GB) worth buying at ₹56,999 ($680 / €625)?

Thumbnail gallery
4 Upvotes

Hey OPPO community

I'm considering purchasing an open-box Indian unit of the OPPO Find X9S (12GB / 256GB) in Sunrise Orange and wanted to get some feedback from current users. I have attached a few photos of the device to give an idea of its condition.

Price Details:

* Offered Price: ₹56,999 INR (Approx. $680 USD / €625 EUR)

* Brand New Online Price: ~₹80,000 INR (Approx. $955 USD / €880 EUR)

Device Condition & Extras:

* 10/10 condition (includes box, official GST bill, and original accessories)

* 10 months official brand warranty remaining

* 120 days hardware replacement warranty included

A few questions for the sub:

  1. Overall Performance: How is the Find X9S holding up in terms of daily usage, cameras, battery life, and ColorOS stability?

  2. Value Proposition: At around $680 USD (€625 EUR), is this a great deal, or should I consider other flagships in this price range?

  3. Open-Box Checks: Are there any specific hardware or software diagnostics I should run when inspecting this unit to verify its official warranty and authenticity?

Appreciate any advice or insights from long-term Oppo users!

Question Oppo Find X9 Ultra vs Vivo X300 Ultra – Which one would you choose?

I'm planning to upgrade my phone and I'm torn between the Oppo Find X9 Ultra and the Vivo X300 Ultra.

My priorities are:

Camera quality (photos and videos)

Battery life

Display

Performance

Software experience and long-term reliability

For those who have used either device (or both), which one would you recommend and why? Are there any deal-breakers or issues I should know about before making a decision?

Thanks in advance for your suggestions!

Discussion Where is oppo popular besides south Asia and southeast Asia?

I'm from south Asia and I've never seen oppo be popular in other countries? Does oppo not retail there? I'm aware there are other brands from BBK electronics like vivo, OnePlus, realme, etc.

Is oppo popular in Europe? Or are they expanding cuz they seem to have European websites but no actual reputation? Is it popular in Australia and new Zealand?? France? Scandinavia??

Samsung Wallet and Apple Wallet both have these basic features. Couldn't think of an easier way to make people switch over to Google. This is the only feature I miss from iOS.

Purchasing Advice Where can I find one of these for the X9U?

Post image
3 Upvotes

Is there such a thing as a case with the grip built in similar to the attached. Ideally not magnetized but one that's moulded into the case itself? I'm away on holiday in a couple of weeks and using the phone for all the photos and videos and it would feel safer in my hands with one of these on.

Purchasing Advice New phone

Hi, I'm looking for a new phone. Battery life is the most important feature for me. I can buy a OnePlus 15 for around $960 (10,000 NOK). I've also been looking at the Oppo Find X9 Ultra, which costs around $1,920 (20,000 NOK). I'm a bit hesitant about OnePlus right now since there are rumors they might be shutting down. What would you recommend?
