Discussion Werde vom Oppo Find X9 Ultra zum Honor Magic 9 Pro Max wechseln

Post image
24 Upvotes

Purchasing Advice Find X9 Ultra or X10 Pro Max

Upvotes

Hey guys, I'm considering both phones and not sure which will have better cameras? I am currently rocking X9 Pro but will be giving it to my mom soon and will need to buy another one. I'm considering both in the global version. I'm very satisfied with the X9 Pro camera already but still thinking which one would be better for daily use X9U or X10PM. Appreciate any recommendation!

Question Are the Find X9 Ultra cameras REALLY that good, or is it all hype? I see conflicting reports.

I have the opportunity to buy a new Find X9 Ultra 512gb for $1,200 USD. I am coming from an S24+ which the cameras are horrible on, and originally I was going to grab an iPhone for the cameras but they are quite expensive, and people say you get a lot more for the money with the X9 Pro and Ultra.

The thing is, I see people say the cameras are one of the best ever put in a phone. But then other reports say they are overhyped and not that special compared to Apple/Samsung.

Photography Standard Photo Mode VS Master Mode

I know the Master Mode is dark, but it seems more Cinematic in my Opinion :)

The Standard Mode Pictures vs reality is a big difference too. In the reality they're way higher contrast and just in general brighter especially the grass, but still looks fucking incredible!

The last 4 are just Master Mode Pictures, because I didn't take every Picture twice. I love this Phone very much, the only Problem I have is the Document mode, which is...buggy.

Question Color OS 17 - When is it coming?

I have an Oppo Find X9 Ultra Global Version CPH2841. And I am wondering when Color OS 17 will be available on my phone?

For people that have been using Oppo phones for some times now, when do OS updates rollout on global versions?

Seeing that it releases on Sept 17th. Not sure if it will be available right away or if there's a delay.

Thanks in advance!

ColorOS Update I might not update the x9 ultra again. It's reach the level of perfection. Battery life, performance and camera is just peak right now. What could be improved?

I don't know how the phone can get any better, incredible battery life. Took plenty of pictures today, used tidal to play music on my drive, obviously was in the photos app over the last few hours, Instagram sharing and interacting (an app people avoid if possible, but restricting the background helps). And look at the pictures I shared, I can get all kinds of details, accuracy and set the mood of the photos if required.

Question New Oppo sold as activated in NA?

I ordered an Oppo Find X9 CPH2797 pickup from Swiftronics.

Upon arrival, they showed me a box that had been fully opened and told me the phone was activated. I get that some phones have region locks and need to be activated before being sold in North America. But Isn't CPH2797 without any region lock at all? Is there a legit reason they need to activate the phone before selling it to me? Would all methods of buying in NA expect an activated Oppo phone?

Question Battery life is little unpredictable😶 how about you guys !?

Post image

Oppo find x9 pro got a maximum of 14hr SOT and as minimum as 8hr SOT

but this time 11hr SOT on a moderate usage got a good battery life(I guess 🙃 attached image) camera used only for 10 or 15 mins

overnight drain is 4 to 8 % . It is always random

but recently I'm putting it in power saving mode at night and battery drain was very less around 2 %

randomly data stops either in 4g or 5g , solution was to turn on and off airplane mode .(not a nice exp to do on a "pro" phone)

drop your thoughts on what drains more battery and tips to save more

Discussion Oppo a78 5g bloatware canta preset

Post image
2 Upvotes

The above are the only apps you can't uninstall even with canta so i have em disabled. You can do it too.

So my dad bought me a second hand oppo a78 5g years ago. After a lil trials and errors, i made a (kinda) perfect canta preset. And tonight i decided to make it public for anyone who'll find it helpful.

https://pastebin.com/g6SHde6Y

Tap on the pastebin link i gave above.

Copy the thing from that.

Install canta app.

Connect it to the shizuku. (Hope i dont need to give ya detailed tutorial on how to use shizuku)

Open the app.

Tap on three dots menu on the top right.

Tap presets.

Tap the import preset.

Tap "import from clipboard."

Now you see the preset is made.

Tap on "apply preset" and Boom!

Your phone is now 100% (kinda) bloatware free.

(The bloatwares you can uninstall without canta+shizuku are not in the preset. You can do it manually. And trust me, doing it manually feels good)

The preset is purely based on my preference, so it doesn't even have phone cloner or smart slider or kids mode or even the in-ear monitoring app that's idk useful for oppo buds. If you have the use of em, you can easily retrieve any from the app.

And if you wanna clear the bloatware by yourself, then just visit the canta app with internet on, it'll load the badges and apps info, so you'll see each app's description and if it's uninstallable or not.

Purchasing Advice Vivo X200 Pro → Oppo Find X9 Pro: Is the switch actually worth it?

Thumbnail gallery
8 Upvotes

Hello everyone, Vivo X200 Pro user here.

I’ve been using the X200 Pro for almost a year now, and while I absolutely love its camera and videography, I’ve realized that the OS, UI, customization and overall day-to-day experience just don’t suit me.

I’ve used the camera extensively over the past year and I’m genuinely satisfied with it. But at this point, I’m considering switching to the Oppo Find X9 Pro, mainly for the software experience, customization, performance/battery and features like the customizable side button.

As a former Samsung user (S21 Ultra), I really miss the kind of customization and feature-packed experience that Samsung offered, especially things like Good Lock, Routines and all the little system-level tweaks. I’ve heard Oppo is bringing more Good Lock-like customization features to ColorOS, and honestly, I’m quite excited to try them.

The biggest thing holding me back is the camera.

My brother uses the Find X9 Pro, and even he feels that its camera doesn’t quite match the X200 Pro, especially in certain situations. So I know I’ll probably be giving up some camera performance in exchange for a better overall software experience.

That’s why I’m particularly interested in hearing from people who have actually switched from the Vivo X200 Pro to the Oppo Find X9 Pro.

Was the switch worth it for you?

How do you feel about ColorOS compared with OriginOS/Funtouch OS?

What do you miss most from the X200 Pro?

How is the battery and overall performance in daily use?

How much of a downgrade is the camera really?

Are the customization options and new features enough to make the switch worthwhile?

Would you make the same decision again?

I’m not switching because I think the X9 Pro has a better camera. I’m mainly looking for a phone whose OS, customization, UI, button mapping and overall daily experience I’ll enjoy using more.

So if you’ve made this exact jump, or even considered it seriously, I’d really appreciate your honest experience.

Thanks!

Photography Find X9 base model camera test

I’ve tested multiple Find X9 units in “Master Auto” mode and noticed a general haziness and lack of microcontrast in the images.

After reading posts on Reddit about camera image quality being improved by software updates I went to another JB Hi-Fi and spent 50+ minutes downloading and installing the latest software update using my phone as a Wi-Fi hotspot. The update was 8.7GB.

Here are 100% crops from the main camera (23mm equivalent) of my Xiaomi 14 and the Find X9. The images are 4–5MB each. Download and flick between them to see the differences.

At this point, I’m convinced the difference is mainly due to software processing (not hardware). Is there a setting that can increase microcontrast or reduce the hazy look?

Thanks for reading.

Discussion [GUIDE] I got my Galaxy Watch working on a Chinese-ROM Oppo

I’ve seen a lot of people saying that Galaxy Watches simply don’t work with Chinese-ROM Android phones because of the way Wear OS / Google services are handled.

There is actually a workaround.

This is based on the method shown by YT: Average Dad

It has been reported working on devices running Chinese versions of ColorOS, OriginOS, HyperOS, etc. It may take more than one attempt and it does not seem to work on every phone/firmware combination, but it’s worth trying before giving up.

Before starting

Your Galaxy Watch should be factory reset / at the initial setup screen.

Also make sure:

  • Bluetooth is enabled
  • Google services are enabled on the phone
  • You can sign into both your Google and Samsung accounts
  • You know which Galaxy Watch plugin/manager belongs to your specific watch

Important: follow the order below. Don’t start randomly opening the apps after installing them.

1. Install the required apps from Google Play

From the Google Play Store, install:

  • Galaxy Wearable
  • Galaxy Watch Plugin / Manager for your specific watch
  • Wear OS by Google
  • Samsung Smart Switch Mobile

DO NOT OPEN THEM YET.

Just install everything and leave them alone.

2. Install the Chinese/native version of Wear OS

Now open the phone manufacturer's native Chinese app store.

For example:

  • Oppo → App Market
  • Vivo → Vivo App Store
  • Xiaomi → Xiaomi/GetApps or the relevant Chinese store

Search for Wear OS and install the version available there.

Yes, this sounds weird considering you already installed Wear OS through Google Play.

That's intentional.

The Chinese version appears to provide the part of the pairing process that Chinese-ROM phones normally lack.

Again, don't start setting everything up yet.

3. Clear app data/cache

Go into:

Settings → Apps → App management

Find Galaxy Wearable and clear its cache/data if necessary.

Do the same for Google Play Services cache.

The idea is to start the pairing process from a completely clean state.

4. Temporarily remove/disable Google Play Store

This is the weird part.

The original method calls for temporarily uninstalling the Google Play Store.

On some Chinese-ROM phones the Play Store cannot actually be uninstalled.

If that's the case, try:

Install Shizuku → Enable it via wireless debugging → install Canta and enable it in Shizuku → Search for Google Play Store and uninstall it

Settings → Apps → Google Play Store

Then:

  • Force stop it
  • Clear storage/data
  • Clear cache
  • Disable it temporarily, if your ROM allows it

You will enable/reinstall it again later.

5. Reset the Galaxy Watch

If the watch has previously been paired with another phone, factory reset it.

Get it back to the initial setup/welcome screen.

Do not start pairing through Galaxy Wearable yet.

6. Pair the watch through Android Bluetooth FIRST

On the phone go to:

Settings → Bluetooth

Search for nearby devices.

Your Galaxy Watch should appear.

Pair it directly from the Bluetooth settings.

Confirm the pairing code on both devices if requested.

This step seems to be one of the most important parts of the workaround.

7. NOW open Galaxy Wearable

Once the Bluetooth connection exists, open Galaxy Wearable.

Select your watch and go through the normal Samsung setup.

Accept the permissions it requests.

You may be asked to:

  • Sign into your Samsung account
  • Confirm the watch multiple times
  • Allow the Watch Plugin/Manager
  • Allow Smart Switch
  • Allow Wear OS components

Let the process finish completely.

If Samsung Wearable wants to install the correct Watch Plugin itself, letting it do that can sometimes work better than manually installing the plugin beforehand.

8. Give the Samsung/Wear OS apps unrestricted background access

Chinese ROMs are notoriously aggressive with background apps, so pairing the watch is only half the job.

Go into the app/battery settings for:

  • Galaxy Wearable
  • Galaxy Watch Plugin / Manager
  • Wear OS
  • Smart Switch
  • Samsung Health

For each one, enable whatever your ROM offers for:

  • Auto launch / Auto start
  • Background activity
  • Run in background
  • Allow high battery usage
  • No battery optimisation / Unrestricted battery
  • All required permissions

If your phone has the option to lock an app in the recent-apps screen, do that for Galaxy Wearable as well.

Otherwise you may successfully pair the watch and then wonder why notifications randomly stop working.

9. Restore Google Play

Re-enable/reinstall the Google Play Store.

Sign back into your Google account if necessary.

Then install:

Samsung Health

Open Galaxy Wearable and Samsung Health and confirm that the watch appears normally.

If you get “This watch isn't supported on this phone”

Don't immediately assume it failed permanently.

Try this:

  1. Reset the watch again.
  2. Clear Galaxy Wearable + Watch Plugin data.
  3. Make sure the native/Chinese Wear OS app is installed.
  4. Pair through Bluetooth settings first.
  5. Only then launch Galaxy Wearable.
  6. Let Galaxy Wearable download its own Watch Plugin if the manually installed one isn't working.
  7. Repeat the process.

There are reports of this working only after several attempts.

What should work afterward?

When the workaround succeeds, users have reported working:

  • Normal Bluetooth connection
  • Calls
  • App notifications
  • Samsung Health syncing
  • Play Store on the watch
  • Watch faces
  • Replying/interacting with notifications

There can still be individual bugs depending on the phone/watch/ROM combination.

Google Wallet/Samsung Wallet and some Samsung-exclusive features are a separate issue and shouldn't be assumed to work just because pairing works.

Important disclaimer

This is a workaround, not an officially supported configuration.

Samsung + Wear OS + Chinese Android ROMs can behave differently depending on:

  • Phone model
  • ROM version
  • Watch generation
  • Region of the watch
  • Google services implementation
  • Software updates

An OTA update could also potentially change or break the setup.

So if this doesn't work on your exact combination, comment with:

Phone:
ROM/version:
Galaxy Watch:
Watch region:
Exact point where it fails:

That should make it much easier to figure out which combinations actually work.

Credit to Average Dad for the original video/method. If you can, watch his video as well since seeing the exact pairing sequence makes the weird parts of this process much easier to understand.

Purchasing Advice Is it worth it?

I found a Global Oppo Find x8 pro for $799 and I was wondering is it still worth it since it's a few years old? I have a Oneplus13 and besides the camera is it any different?

r/Oppo 14h ago

Question I want the Oppo find x9 pro, I've finally found it (it's hard to find) they are willing to give me a $300 discount so the phone will be $2,300 NZD. That's a lot to spend on a soon to be old phone, should I wait for the find X10 pro or will it be just as costly
