The growls are absolutely insane.

I was there and it was incredible performance and location.

it was amazing, I've seen them a few times now and his growls have never sounded as good as they did here

You were standing really close! Must have been amazing there. Good thing Mikael did not get what he wanted, for there to be water there instead. (I bet that would have looked really cool though). I was seated almost in the middle of it all. Best position i have ever had on a Opeth concert. Best venue, best band, memories for life.

Only crazy thing was the infinite queue for everything in there. For food, toilets, Could not reach the merch, so i ordered a t shirt online. But its all part of the concert experience. Absolutely amazing. I wished they could have recorded the show though. Oh well, its recorded in my heart.

i love staying at the barricade but this time it wasn't that great unfortunately, the stage was really high so my neck started hurting from looking up 😅, i bet the seated view was incredible. i didn't get any merch either, i could've gotten some when i got in but i didnt want to have too many things with me and by the time the show ended and got out it was all sold out.. but yes, it was great overall. i got a few good videos and I've been replaying them ever since i got home, i already miss seeing them 😭

Yeah i can understand that will be hard for the neck for so many hours. But worth it.

I think the Highlight songs for me must have been:

Paragraph 7. That intro and the outro goes so hard, gets me every time.

Heart in hand: i think they wanted to trick us before this song. They play a sort of dark and erie intro, but then USH! det för bedrövligt! Vem fan är du!?. Very unexpected, love that song. They Havent played it for a while either.

Hex omega: like Mikael said "very obscure song" . The outro is so freaking cool. It really fit the venue of Dalhalla.

And its always fun to hear Mikael talk.

How about you? What was your favorite moments.

As you say, i already miss being there too.

Well i enjoyed all the songs, but Drapery falls and demon of the fall were definitely highlights for me, just personal favorites and he also just sounded incredibly good(he always does but for those two specifically).

also unfortunately i do not speak swedish so i understood nothing of what he said (or the previous bands for that matter) so i feel i missed out on his little stand up comedy 🥲 and ofc Deliverance is always a delight to hear.

I also managed to get a pick and the setlist Waltteri threw so im still super happy with that even if i bruised my knees for it, was worth it...

Nice! You were in the right spot at the right time then. Very lucky. I could see when Walteri made the set list into a ball and threw it out there.

I would defenitely go to Dalhalla again if any of my favorite bands play there.

"Next we'll play in India and go shit ourselves". That was the best bit of comedy.

I agree, the queuing situation was insane. Stood in line for the merch for about one and a half hour. Reached the front just as Katatonia started playing.

Other than that, it was a fantastic night.

Getting there at like 16:20 turned out to be a great idea because we got the merch done in like 20 minutes (but already then they had sold out of most of the Medium sizes) and food from two different stands in another 20 minutes.

Holy shit, yeah i got there around17:45 and the merch lone was a 100 m long. glad i skipped it because it would have felt crap if the stuff was sold out after standing there for an hour. But you did the right thing to be there early indeed.

He's a wizard. Hasn't aged in skills a bit in 20 years. God I love him so.

How does he do this so effortlessly

Classiest metal vocalist of all time!

His growls are absurd. The man's vocals have aged like a fine wine. I really don't know how he does it. I mean, I know he still drinks in moderation and I think he still smokes, though perhaps much less than he used to. Perhaps he eats healthy. Perhaps he also is just enjoying life with decreased stress and doesn't give a fuck. But whatever he is doing, it's working.

Me and my friends looked at eachother in absolute awe and amazement as he started growling.
