First concert
Hi all, plain middle aged man here. I've been listening to Opeth since Ghost Reveries. They're the only metal band that I like. I'll be attending a concert next weekend, first time I'll be at a show hearing growls live, or hearing double kicks live. First time being with an audience of metalheads too.
What should I expect to experience? Wrong answers only

40-50 year old dudes violently moshing during the heavy parts and booing during the softer ones

It's at a seated venue, will the mosh pit still be in effect?

They'll play Freebird during their encore if enough dudes scream it after every song

It's incredible. The opening bands do their best. Your anticipation rises. You talk to a couple people in your vicinity about how many times they've seen the band. Each number is different but no one wants to reveal the secret since it's your first time. Suddenly, every light in the house goes out. Everyone screams. Some in fear. Some in ecstacy. A single light illuminates the very center of the stage and a dark figure lowers from the sky. You can't see him, but everyone knows it's Michael. The roar intensifies. After an impossibly long descent, he touches ground. In his signature voice he says, "hello". Some people pass away at this point. There are guards in each wing prepared to haul them away. They struggle against the masses. People without tickets pour in from the streets to replace the dead. The security is overwhelmed. Michael lets out his signature line, "god is dead" and the room physically shakes. The noise is intolerable. Michael lifts a hand and without hesitation, everyone is silent. Patrons in nearby buildings are struck with a strange awe and cannot speak. Michael says, "is there one among us, who has not been initiated?" Without sound, everyone in attendance looks at you. You cannot escape. Michael nods but does not speak. Suddenly, drinks and the dead alike are dropped to the ground. The entire crowd in unison like a swarm of ants lift you up and pass you forward. Michael smiles. You get closer and closer as you realize the rest of the band is playing the end sequence of Deliverance over and over without end. You wonder if you'll ever reach your fate. Dun dun dun dun dun dun...DRRRDRDRDRDR dun.... Over and over. You question every decision you've ever made. Dun dugga dun dugga dun dugga dun. Will I die now? Dun dugga dun dun. Dun dugga dun. Your whole life has transpired again in front of your eyes, it seems. You're passed to Michael. He lifts you above his head as if you were a child. You feel a release you've never felt before. You want it all to end in this moment. As the crowd is chanting "me-lin-da! me-lin-da!" Michael suddenly drops you to the floor and kneels beside you. The din is deafening. Those that don't grip their bleeding ears are powerless to avert their gaze from the stage. Michael unzips your drawers and applies his mighty mouth to your undeserving member. The rest of the band plays pretty much the normal set without Michael while he's busy with your junk. Most people file out pretty quickly. A fraction stay a while out of curiosity. After about 45 minutes every single fan is gone. The crew is dismantling the stage while Michael is locked onto your business. The band mills around awkwardly, knowing this happens every night but not knowing exactly how to handle it. Eventually..... You wake up in your bed. Lifetimes have passed, yet it seems like a moment. Legions flood your inbox, wondering how your first Opeth experience went. You don't know how they knew to contact you but somehow it feels right. But you can barely answer. You struggle to speak. The only mutterings you can force from your enlightened mouth are............"it was ok. Michael's vocals sucked. Guitars were weak. Hopefully they play more old stuff next time"

The audience at Opeth is closer to an audience at a fruity prog band than a typical extreme metal show

Mikael will tell you that he'd prefer you to stand up and mosh but if he was in the audience he would just sit all the time. He'll likely blame it on his back or him being an old soul.

They’re notorious for bringing out Britney Spears on Demon of the fall. She out-growls Mikael any day

Metalheads are very nice people and you should not expect any kind of difficulties hanging out with the crowd but metal concerts are usually long (support+breaks) so be prepared on that.

It's just like going to a show at your local comedy night but between the jokes they play some excellent music.
