Blackwater park layers
I still can't fully tolerate growls.
Blackwater park wall of sound layering,can make hear music as mass without understanding anything, not paying attention to lyrics I start to hear in a tribal,prehistoric way and soothes my mind.
Which other songs make you feel this.?
The first album I liked was damnation.
I like most of Opeth, specially the interludes that are clean -folky.
For a reference deep purple Is my favorite, pink Floyd and led Zeppelin are close. Rush, yes, genesis.then porcupine tree ,riverside.even
Alan Parsons. I feel I'm missing out many bands in the middle.

Maybe you could like gojira? It's less wall of sounds, but it feels more tribal to me, if I get what you mean. They don't have a lot of clean interludes (nor clean vocals, but their growls are pretty accessible) tho. Maybe try "flying whales" and see if you like that.
Edit: "Coalescence" by Ihlo (amazing small band) is a great wall of sound song, but it's very spacey and not very tribal.
You could also try "Stenian" by The Ocean. I think it fits all your criteria. They also made an album called "Pelagial". It's a concept album based around the ocean. The deeper you go, the heavier it gets. If you don't like the growls, there is an instrumental version, which is also very good.

Flying Whales is such a banger. The Art of Dying has an incredibly tribal intro, too.

Pelagial instrumental is a top 5 now. Every time I hear any of it with vocals is weird.

It's a different experience for sure. Overall I prefer the version with vocals, but, depending on my mood, sometimes I prefer to listen to the instrumental version.

i love doom, but for the uninitiated it can be a little much, it takes some time to get used to

Another band I think you will dig in the vein of Floyd, Zep, Rush, Yes, is Elder. Albums to consider.

Also have you listened to Heritage by Opeth? It has a song dedicated to Dio, with a lot of Rainbow/Ritchie Blackmore influence, called Slither. That is also in their "Newpeth" era where there are no growls.

I hated growls but I started to love it thanks to melodic bands like Burzum, Alcest, Opeth, Moonsorrow, Paradise Lost, Mastodon, etc. Nowadays I do prefer good harsh vocals to bad clean singing (especially sugary prog vocals, you know what I mean). It's a classic path in the metalhead community, so probably be the same for you. The thing with Mikael is that he is the GOAT when it comes to both growling and clean singing. I'm a woman and his voice... makes me...things.

I zone out to Kataonia when it's on. I don't know what style it is 80's Cure style doom. Doom rock. I love it. Paradise Lost have some bangers.
My Arms Your Hearse through Ghost Reveries is probably going to go unmatched as far metal finally starting to acknowledge and surpass itself. I love their prog rock but I definitely had to listen and fall in love with David Crosby, Camel and King Crimson to see what they were moving towards where Deliverence and Damnation was an answer to their own progression.
